Kežmarok Castle

Very nice place. The castle is rather small but in very good condition. There's a museum, toilets and a restaurant with tasty local food.

Great Castle to visit all year around.

The urban compound of the castle originated in 1463. Curiosity and courage were properties the noble Princess Beata Laská of Kežmarok Castle certainly possessed. Otherwise she would never have set out on a trip accompanied by several burghers from Kežmarok to the not too distant Snow Mountains (today called the Tatras) in 1565. When the princess returned three days later, after having visited Zelené pleso lake, her angry husband was waiting for her at the gate of the castle. He decided to have the Princess interned in the strongest tower where she passed six long years in extremely hard conditions. The only relief for the unfortunate princess was that the tower had two small windows, one overlooking her beloved Snow Mountains, and the other through which she was given food.

Good place to spend time during rainy days. There is guided tour each hour. You can't walk Castle on your own

Nice castle, interesting exhibition.We were on the night exhibition and I like it.

Castle is not situated on the hill (as usual), rather it is in the city centre surrounded by charming main square.

The Kežmarok castle is a beautiful gem near the Tatra mountains. It's a wonderful place to visit when the weather conditions are unfavourable for hiking, and you'll learn some pretty interesting things as a bonus! To visit the castle, you have to go on a guided tour - the tour guides are very knowledgeable and will tell you loads of fascinating stories about the castle itself and the people who used to live there. Overall a great experience!

Nice place, easy to access, great history. The cafe is nice with lunch items on menu and excellent desserts.

Beautiful slovak historical heritage.Well worth visiting! Inexpensive tickets can be purchased right on the spot.Beware- cash only- for the tickets! Guided walk around the castle runs every hour- not possible to browse without a guide.Last walk- 4pm!

Beautiful historical place to visit

Beautiful castle with a café and amazing examination. Interesting exhibition and kind guide. There was also open-air cinema. Parking wasn't problem (1€ per hour). I can recommend.
