My favorite part of travel is seeing things that most people don't see. Hidden treasures like this place is so cool. They are doing a lot of work to restore it but you still get a feel for what it looked like originally. There are a lot of castles and palaces that Have been completely rebuilt and lost the authenticity of what it was. This place is not that, and it was five euros, and not one other person was in there. It's worth the drive, then from here or you can go see other castles but I'm so glad I took the time to go see this special place of history, that wasn't a church!!

Beckov is an amazing place, both the castle and the village. It is worth noting that due to the location of the castle it is not appropriate for people with mobility issues. However, for those able bodied enough to make the walk up to the castle, I 100% recommend it. The place has been tastefully and beautifully restored in parts, you can really explore around the place. It also has little shops and shows and the like.

Beautiful place, breathtakingly beautiful castle. Inside, it is still a bit puritanical, but they are renovating and polishing it, fortunately they keep the old condition, so the opinion about it is only positive.
The sword selfie is a great idea!!!
2023 ticket price: 4 euro/person

Liked the way they are taking care of this place. Some parts are renovated and there are also some new buildings built (exhibition rooms, stage, toilets).

The walk up is short - about 10 minutes from the parking.

The entrance is 4,50 € and you can pay by card 💳 There are also souvenir shops and refreshments.

Recommend :)

Needless to say this place is just absolutely gorgeous. It very easy to access, right off the highway. There is a very good infrastructure for the visitors, with clean bathrooms, snack shops and gift shops. There was a small puppet show for little kids going on, so it is for sure a family place, where you can make a day of it.

Gorgeous castle overlooking the nearby valley. The castle is in a ruinous state but has been renovated properly by the volunteers. There are seasonal activities going on as movies or other events. The ruin is very interesting to look at and the views are breathtaking. Thereare also some pastures with animals. The entry price is reasonable. Great place, would definitely visit again!

During our trip through Slovakia in summer 2017 we seen the castle form the highway. It was simple to find it after left the highway on the first exit. The parking is in the village under the castle and there is some poor 10 minutes of walking to the castle.

The whole caste is to be self visited, info are in English, some nice panoramic view from the castle to the surroundings and inside interesting tools, arms, equipment exposed around. there is a small gift shop a clean toilet. Traveled with kids (2, 5, 8).

Great medieval-styled castle and was made even better by the market & demonstrations, archery, and a blacksmith! I'm a big fan of these types of castles and loved to see this re-creation of the lifestyle of medieval times.

Had a chat with the blacksmith, very friendly and great English speaking. Bought one of his horseshoes as well.

You can also buy rhubarb wine, watch a puppet show, and buy other gifts and items in the castle grounds.

Definitely recommend a visit!

Very nice ruin of a castle it is awesome it has great and breathtaking views and volunteers are slowly rebuilding it to its original state before its devastation, it has vast history and the educational value of visiting this place is high. It's located near the D1 about 5min drive so you can visit it on your way to your chosen destination in Slovakia.

It's great castle to visit (1 hour from Bratislava). It's much bigger than it looks from the highway. We were impressed how large it is, there are many well preserved "rooms". It's possible to park the car in the village right under the castle free of charge. It takes about 5-10min by foot to reach the castle. You have to buy tickets to visit it, but these are not expensive. There were many families with children of all ages, but because of many stairs inside, using stroller is difficult there except from main courtyard. It's possible to enter with dog. There are seasonal atractions and events, little shops with local crafts, wine and food.
Next to the castle is private little museum in the nature about the castle history and shop with theme stuff for children. From the opposite hill is great view on the castle in all its beauty.

Interesting castle to visit, not too long to look round. Nice views of surrounding area. At July 2019 adult entry was EUR 4 (3 for seniors)

One of the most preserved ruins of mediaval castel, with pretty well-developed infrastructure. The castel area belongs to the local community, and they do try their best in order to improve the service and overall experience year-by-year. Worth to try and support them all. Access with wheelchair is possible, but support needed.

Wonderful landmark. It is worth to get the tickets since there is a nice view from the top. There are also toilets and a gift shop so everything was available. Parking is for free near the park below castle. Its not far, in 5 minutes walk you are at the castle.

Partly reconstructed castle ruine. From the high way it looks smaller than it actually is. It offers nice views onto the surrounding countryside.

Nice castle ruin, partly restored, easily accessible, even with small kids. This summer they have farm animals throughout the castle and dragon statues in the upper parts. The kids loved it, as well as the beautiful views from the tower. The highlight for us however, were the live owls, eagles and falcons.
