Zborov Castle

Very interesting site, it is not that promoted but really worth seeing. Currently there is reconstruction taking place. No fee required but there is a possibility to leave a tip for visiting.

Entrance is free but you can donate to support the restoration of the castle. The work is in progress but it is not a problem for sightseeing. There are two paths up, one short and steep and one easier but longer. I strongly advise against taking the steep path down. The view is gorgeous.

Excellent castle and a good walk. We took the 15% 30 min walk (took us 22mins at a steady pace) with our 2.5yo on a carrier on my back.

It’s well signed and paved most of the way. We will be back again to explore and perhaps take ok the 40% ramble.

When we walked up to the castle, we were shocked how huge it was. It’s a wonderful place and there are also lots of information boards. The path to get there is quite tough, especially when it’s hot. It’s about 1km one way and steep.

The most beautiful Castle i saw

Very beautiful and extensive castle in wonderful nature...
Just 30 minutes walk from nearest village via road in good condition through forest.
It is popular castle, because Zuzana Čaputová, prezident of Slovak republic, also visited this castle in 2019.

This is a ruined castle undergoing a bit of work to stop it falling down further - but it's still plenty dangerous, with great views, falling rocks, no amenities, no charge to enter... All the things that you can't find in many other parts of Europe these days! Definitely worth a visit!

From the beginning you can choose, whether you prefer easier (but longer) or harder (shorter) way. Once you're on the castle, it may be a bit tricky to get to some places, since there are still works everywhere, but the view is tremendous. I hope it will be repaired soon.

Nice view free parking

Very nice place. The way is accessible for children, but a bit uphill. The castle ruins are well preserved and there is no paiment required.

A nice trip, the walk takes like 15 minutes. There are pretty views and you can help out with renovation of the castle.

Cool experience, the hike to castle is very pleasant and the castle is quite large to visit. However, the castle is undergoing repairs.

God bless the group of locals Who do their best to reconstruct the castle. The effort is definitely worth it.

Last year, 2017, we also visit Zborov Rhad and we've seen a lot of difference with this visit. What a transformation! Really a place you must visit.
