Múzeum Radenov dom

Very interesting and beautiful museum of the Village of Čičmany. Our tour guide provided us with a lot of information about the origins of painted houses, history and life of locals. It is worth a visit!

What a beautiful place to visit, the museum and the whole village actually. Čičmany gives you a beautiful, but sometimes sad feeling of the past. I admire them for all the preservation they do, so future generations can explore the past. Great place to just stroll or spend some time with family. The originally painted wood houses are just beautiful. Printed English description and information was provided from the staff as well.

Beautiful tiny museum to visit!
Have 2 floors in the main house where you can see the history of the village and can learn about the local traditions. Descriptions are both in Slovak and English.
The entrance fee per adult is 5 euros and can be paid by card.
For that price, they are opening a second house as well where you can observe how poor families used to live in Cicmany.

Beautiful small museum, young woman working on the desk was very helpful and spoke good English. Includes entrance to the building opposite too.

We visited the shop on a Tuesday where everything else was closed. We entered because I had to go to the loo, the ladies were nice and let me go and then we wondered in the shop. The products are unique, some of them handcrafted and as expected very expensive. We bought a pair of socks, 25 euro. Hope it will last us forever :)))

Whenever I can visit Cicmany I'm going here and I can enjoy it as if I was here for the first time. No matter if is summer or winter. This village is worthy to visit all the time. There is also a local food or some nice drinks. Parking is easy by SMS through the phone or app🤩

Really beautiful village in Slovakia which is about 2.5hrs journey from Bratislava and 50mins journey from Castle of spirits-Bojnice Castle(self transport mode). In this village every houses are decorated with unique white symbols. Parking spaces are there. Restaurant are also near by in this quiet and nice village. Worth to visit the museum to know about past people lives.

The small museum is a very good way to get a glimpse of what living in Cicmany was like in the last few hundred years. I was suprised of the very high quality of the museum and especially its very informative and friendly employees. The younger English speeking guy even gave me a whole private tour for no extra cost than the normal entrance fee. It was very intersting to get to know more about Cicmanys history. Although its just a small museum i highly recommend to visit it in the centre of this beautiful village, not yet flooded with overtourism. Parking is possible nearby with an SMS paid parking system.
