The castle is one of the most important sights of Nitra. where you can see the cathedral located in the fortress. The viewing of which will surely make you excited. In the castle you can also climb the tower from where the whole city can be seen.

This place is worth to visit. I mean if you visited Nitra and never got to the catle hill then you should not say someone that you were in this city. Go up there, it is just couple of stairs but beautiful view, historical building with cool coffee place.

I truly suggest to see this castle. It is small, but it is super nice. We parked 500m from the castle and that road up to the castle it is amazing. Unfortunately the museum was close, but still we spent there more than 1h.

You must visit Nitra castle if you are visiting Nitra. It has wonderful views, you can see far away. You can also visit the church& around the castle. There’s also underground space to visit. There’s a small fee to pay,but worth it. There are toilets & a am all souvenir shop. You can get there with a buggy but it’s a bit stoney &loads of steps. There’s loads of events organised here. Definitely worth visiting, love the view.

If you’re on a weekend city break to Bratislava, it is definitely worth to quickly visit Nitra as well. It’s a quaint, cute little town with lots of cafes and bookstores

Nice point from where to see the surrounding countryside around Nitra including Mount Zobor. The cathedral inside the castle area is small but beautiful.

There is small wine bar in one of the towers, it is absolutely magic. Great wine, excellent local appetizers and magic atmosphere.

A beautiful castle that is definitely worth a visit. We also took part in a guided tour. We were accompanied by the guide Ondrej, who gave us a very detailed and engaging lecture about the castle and the local Church. I was also pleasantly surprised that the guide Ondrej knew a lot of information about the Christian spiritual life, for which I give him a thumbs up. I definitely recommend everyone to visit the castle and also pay for a guide, maybe you will be lucky and get a very nice and wise guide like us.
PS: The castle also has a nice small cafe with friendly staff. :)

Beautiful castle, beautiful views, a very interesting exhibition in the museum about the first Slovak writings from the 8th century and Konstantine the Philosopher, who invented the first Slovak alphabet. All the information was translated into English, German and Russian, which is a big plus. On the downside - they don't accept card payments, cash only.

Impressed! Was a great experience for me and family.

The tour of the crypt (in excellent English!) by our guide made this visit special. Great storytelling atmosphere whilst explaining the various ages and relevant ownership of the castle was of great interest.

With a 360 degree view of Nitra it is a superb spot to take in the scenery.

Definitely recommended!

Tip and info for visit (based on our experience)
- €4 per adult which gives you access to grounds, crypt, cathedral, cathedral tower and the museum.
- student discount (including students outside of EU!) avilable (ticket is then only €2)
- we arrived at around 11:50 and next available spot for tower was at 13:30. It suited us as we had packed a picnic basket for lunch so we had lunch in the shade of the castle (highly recommended spot!). However, should you have limited time I would think it best to arrive a bit earlier to ensure a timeslot that is more convenient
- staff was helpful and friendly!
- this is a 1h30-2h excursion , which leaves enough time to see the rest of the town’s sites if you are planning a daytrip from Bratislava
