A nice historic square with restaurants, souvenir shops and tour operators. Nice view of the tower and a great place with old buildings to spend an afternoon.

The Plague Column on Rybno Square is a Baroque triple column standing on Rybno Square in the historical zone of Bratislava . It is a column built in 1713 from a public collection to commemorate the end of the plague epidemic that affected Bratislava at the end of 1712 . According to contemporary documents, 3,860 residents succumbed to it in the city and another 1,561 were infected [1] . Great merit in the struggle for its suppression was given to the then Archbishop of Ostrihom and Hungarian Primate, Cardinal Christian August Saský , whose name is immortalized on the base of the column (the late Cardinal was the initiator as well as the donor of the building).
The pillar is located at the junction of Rybné and Hviezdoslavovho náměstí . Its author is unknown; the stone enclosure was created by the unknown Austrian sculptor Martin Victor. The pillar was probably so damaged in the middle of the 18th century that the city council decided to have it repaired and restored. Around 1760 , she commissioned the Bratislava sculptor Jozef Sartory with this work . However, Sartory conceived his work not as a meticulous renovation in the sense of preserving the original values of the work, but rather as its free modification. We can still admire the result of his work today.

Nice trinity structure. Story says that this was created during the plague ages ago, to ask for healing as the people dont know how to cure the sickness brought by the plague.

Effin awesome, best drinks, best food, lovely service.. NOT! it's just a plague column, on top of a mass grave of medieval plague victims - possible zombie awakening spot, if they can dig their way thru the concrete 😂

This is a nice momentum with perfectly crafted statues. You can also have a stroll on the walking street towards the National Theater in a peaceful environment surrounded with a lot of trees and historical buildings.

A pillar built as a sign of celebration for the end of a pandemic in 18th century, a common thing which can be found all over Austro-Hungarian empire. Depicting Mary and various saints.

It a nice sculpture with a strong symbolism linked to the end of the Plague. It is also a reference point at one end of the pedestrian area.
