Absolutely wonderful!!! This theatre is newly built 4 years ago. The attention to detail is obvious. The glass partion walls and the sloping high arching ceilings give the theater a elegant but still sophisticated atmosphere. The interior of the concert hall is finely adorned with impactful red motif. The wooden design of the concert ceiling again gives it motion and acoustic elements. Very well thought out and not just acoustically pleasing but also visually stunning. The entire venue is top notch. I highly recommend.

I preferred previous National theatre is very beautiful and really historical building. this is ok trying to be modern. You can feel touch of oldness even is new. This theatre was building many years during different governments.Almost haven't finished. You can really see touch of "history" what was modern before even now :)))

A very pompous building that predicts a really good experience in terms of content. The rating is for an externality that convinces.

I went to watch the Nutcracker in December and it was incredible!
Amazing dancers, I recommend it if you are in Bratislava.

The show I watched was during the day, so the dress code was not as strict as in the evening.

Amazing building design ergonomics, especially inside. Cosy halls, where a good amphitheater provides a great view of the scene. Spacious spots with enough space for the knees, perfect temperature (it was quite warm in the winter), and good acoustic.

We were at the ballet Carmina Burana. Rather good modern vision. Can’t say the dancers were excellent, but they tried.

The Performance Ballet with Sľuk is a must to see. The combination of national singing and dancing with classic ballet and "contemporary" dance was a pleasant experience.

Visited to see production of War and Peace, which was remarkable experience. Talented actors brought this theme to life, punctuated by moments of humour. Packed audience was a good mirror to the performance. This wasn't my first neither last visit. Highly recommend.

Very nice place to visit. The program of the theater includes plays, operas and concerts. The actors and actresses are famous in Slovakia and is interesting to see the set so close. The plays are in Slovak language that could be a bit of disappointment if you don't speak fluent, because is hard to follow the cultural jokes and specific conversation. Personally I enjoy the plays and for me is advanced class in Slovak language and cultura.

This is a landmark in Bratislava. It is a Neo-Renaissance theater building in the Old Town of Bratislava, Slovakia, which formerly housed two of the theater's ensembles (opera and ballet).
It was founded in 1920 after the creation of Czechoslovakia as a cooperative and became a state-run company in 1945.

I've only been a couple of times for ballet and opera, but I was impressed with the excellent acoustics.
There are multiple bars and coat-checks, so it's pretty convenient when you want to see a show.
If you have a student/teacher ID card then you can get discount tickets, both at the box office and online.

We did attend to “Die Fledermaus" and liked it much.

If, for example, the productions at the Vienna State Opera are too modern for you, then I can highly recommend events in Bratislava.
