Chata Magurka

Chata magurka was an amazing experience for us! We were looking for a quiet place to enjoy nature and Chata magurka nailed it.
We stayed for a single night in this September, so getting to the place wasn't so difficult since there was no mud or snow on the roads.
Be aware that there is no cellphone reception so download an offline map ahead of arrival.

The room itself was simple, yet had all the necessary things - comfortable bed, quiet (of course) and a good worm shower.
The only little problem was that there were no curtains for the window.

The staff were extremely nice and friendly, and the owner is cooks amazing, we ate both dinner and breakfast the day after and the food was perfect.

Around the Chata there are many day hiking trails with different levels of difficulty, very organized and simple to follow the route.

So if you are up for a quiet night or two away from the internet, this is the right place ☺

An absolutely excellent combination of location, service, and comfort.
We stayed in a double room, ate all most of our meal in the restaurant and also used the sauna after a full-day hike. The location is perfect for immersion in nature - Magurka is the highest located village in Slovakia, which means you are living deep in a valley surrounded by mountains but also with view of the nearby mountain ranges and stunning sunsets.
Value for money: for the price, this was a bargain when you consider the location, comfort, service and access to a good restaurant and a decent bar. Don't expect luxury, but comfort is guaranteed.
The biggest thanks goes to the staff though - super accommodating and easy-going not in a forced way, but like normal people.

Excellent service that speaks perfect English and can help you when you’re out on cold. I had a delicious Chinese tea with my partner and a variety of dishes was available. “Chata” looks great and is really welcoming and warm inside.

Our 10 day stay there was amazing! Special thanks to Katerina, Marcel and Martin for taking care of us and providing everything we needed! Hope to see you all very soon!

Very nice place to sit and rest after hiking. Friendly and quick service, tasty halušky and cozy interior. Would like to come back there.

Friendly service, good food, decent rooms and really nice building. Stayed for a weekend attending a mountain rescue course for which this location provided a great setting. Plus its a ideal place for summer & winter tours.

Magurka itself is a great place to stay, add lovely staff and breathtaking mountains to that and you have a wonderful spot for your vacation.

Really lovely accommodation with great restaurant. we stayed for two nights, used a hot tub as well.

Great place with amazing genius loci in the heart of Nizke Tatry. Rooms are beautifull and food is also very nice. Also very kind people running the place. A well hidden gem.

The staff was kind helpful and very friendly. The rooms are cosy and very clean. The nature is excellent.
