The most Amazing and unexpected wonder in this part of Saudi Arabia! Next to more famous Diriyah It’s also a beautiful example of Najdi architecture! The whole village is a gigantic site with so many things to see it can make You dizzy. It definitely deserves to be treated better and in my opinion it’s just a matter of time and it will be popped with money like Diriyah so go and check it now! Approximately 2 hours driving from Riyadh and the views on the way are also spectacular.

Super “cool” experience.. when we reached there it was 2:30 and temperature was 30 degree.. we thought of canceling the visit because of the hot climate, but by luck we decided to check inside just for curiosity.. surprisingly the temps inside the village was around 24-26… literally it was cold.. we spent 1.5 hours in that village to enjoy the marvelous construction to prevent outside heat and very comfortable stay.. the construction was done with mud, tree trunks, stones and dates tree leaves.. The village roads were well connected and walked through each and every path..

Must-visit! Although, with no tourists and almost no locals, this place feels more like a movie set than a tourist attraction!

Amazing work done by ancient People. It's most beautiful place ,we can learn the old architecture,Culture,Food habits ,What kind of materials they used in olden days .

We can give 100/100 .there gesture is awesome.

Presently Winter festival is going on there. Little bit crowded .

Parking lot is enough .
Amazing arrangements done by local authorities.

We need to thank them .

Inside many tiny to mid level museum there. Children should go educational visit there.

Salute to local authorities and museum Employees.

If you are interested in vernacular and heritage architecture that's the place to visit.. About 200 km north of Riyadh with easy access and decent roads. Worth the trip.

We are so glad we stopped here on the way to Hail from Riyadh! What a great opportunity to see the way buildings and towns were formed in earlier times. Plenty of pathways to explore and photo opportunities. Would be great to visit with children, wear good walking shoes!

The museum was also great to stop by if you have time but may not be the best for young kids.

We really enjoyed our visit, there is a true sense of hospitality and desire to share knowledge about their historical buildings and traditional way of life. People are kind, without being pushy like in many places. 100% recommended.

Visited during Eid 2023 - April 22nd and it was practically empty which is great! We drove right in and parked in front of museum. Walked around the village and in the alleyways and it was a cool temperature. Najdi architecture is stunning!

Lovely place. It has one place where you can eat and drink. It also has a shop or two with a number of tiny museums (some free while others are 5-15 SAR). You can go into the houses as long as it has an open door, but be careful while you’re in there and watch your step.
Plus, it’s wheelchair accessible 👍

The best heritage city near Riyadh city. Very old as some historians say it was mentioned in the poem pre-Islamic era.
Visit it on the weekend, preferably on Fridays when it’s busy so that we live the full experience.
Engage with the locals as they will help you understand the history and they will give you a free tour.

Well preserved heritage village around 200 km from capital city Riyadh. Well maintained and clean surroundings. There are many things to see around. They celebrate the heritage festival in April. A must visit place. There's a museum called Al Salem which will be a main attraction for all. Parking and other facility is on the site. Delighted to see this place.

The village is preserved in an amazing fashion! And the car access until the very end is a good thing too, given if you go with people who need assistance or a wheelchair getting around, which shouldn't be a problem.
It was just an amazing experience seeing all the houses and common areas, seeing how people lived back then.
Would definitely recommend a visit if you're passing by or in the area!
P. S: The guy at the museum is very friendly!

That’s one of the place in which you’d be able to checkout the traditional architecture with muddy houses and the old mosque with it’s underground floor too where they used to hide during war or invasions

The castles belonged to the governor and is preserved by their descendants decades later , in a way to preserve their heritage . Its mesmerising to walk the same path as them and watch how they lived. To enhance this experience stay over the weekend

This place is so beautiful and feels so authentic! Highly recommend this to everyone. I just wish the little shops were open, however we went outside the season, in summer plus the covid. But even without that, it is worth visiting and have a walk. With the palm trees the temperature was a bit lower and pleasant.
