Tuflah Well

Historical well located in Asfan.

The Tuflah Well is one of archeological and historical places. Located on center of small city, Asfan, the well can be reached easily. However, need to arrange carefully if wants to visit other historical place in this city,i.e: Ottoman Fortress. Although the distance from the air is not far between of them, but because of less u-turn on highway, so will taking more effort to reach one of them. The nearest u-turn is 8km on North and 23km on South.

As per historians, when the Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him was in Asfan and need water, the well was very salty and not able to drink. Then, Rasulullah spitted on the well and the water became fresh and drinkable. Allahu'alam

In this location, will find 2 spots of well. The one is small diameter but very deep, also still draining water. The other one is wide diameter (~10m) well and the depth is around 20m, no water inside. Not any clear reference, which one is Tuflah Well exactly.

This is a historic plac in islamic history. But unfortunately ignored and not well maintained by the locsl authorities and also visitors not care about throwing garbage and littering inside the well.

But a good thing access is very good with proper asphalt road upto the location via Makkah Madinah Highway in the small village of Usfan/Asfan/Osfan/عسفان۔

as per recent visit on 5.june.2019, the water level was quite low....Alhamdulillah still got the reauired amount!

May Allah (S.W.T.) protect this well from drying out.

A nice place for whom to "feel" on the journey of Prophet Muhammad on the Hijra Road. Unfortunately no maintenance & there is signboard that prohibit trespasser.

Well of Tafla (بئر التفلة) is in Asfan on the way between the capitals of the Islamic world Makkah and Madina. This well though kept in an ignored state now was reportedly did not dry till date after Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) had spit into it.

As per historians, Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) passed by Asfan while returning from Makkah after the “Bond of Hudaibiyya” with Quryash tribe in 6th year of hijra. When He (صلى الله عليه وسلم) along with 1400 companions reached there the well was dry. He (صلى الله عليه وسلم) spit into it and the water streamed.

Asfan was over many centuries in the route commuted by pilgrims to the house of Allah. Even before the era of Islam Prophet Hud (عليه السلام) and Prophet Salih (عليه السلام) had passed through this area. It was though this way the Quraysh caravans of traders used to travel to Sham (present day Syria). It lies at a distance of 55 km north of Makkah, and 345 km south of the city of Madina.

ويذكر ان الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم مر بعسفان في طريقه الى مكة المكرمة من المدينة المنورة فأشرف صلی الله عليه وسلم على البئر وبصق فيه ومنذ ذلك الوقت لم ينضب ماؤه

المكان للاسف مهمل ومغيبة من وزارة السياحة لاتوجد لوحات إرشادية او معلومات عن المنطقة
اثر تاريخي ديني يجب الاهتمام والالتفات اليه

البعض يقول انه لم يثبت عن النبي ذلك فنقول له الزيارة لهذا الاثر ليسا لذات المكان فهو صرح من حجر وإنما نزوره اعتقادا منا على ان المصطفى قد كان فيه

حسب المؤرخين انه كان يمر به طريق هجرة النبي بين مكة والمدينة المنورة في مدينة عسفان يقال ان البئر كان كغيره من الابار مالح فبصق فيه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فأصبح حلوا إلى يومنا هذا والله أعلم

بئر التفلة هو البئر الذي مر به النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في عسفان وكانت مياهه مالحة قاحلة فتحولت الى عذبة وفاضت وكثرت بعد أن تفل فيها عليه الصلاة والسلام والقصة معروفة ومشهورة ، ولقد مررت بها للزيارة والاستطلاع وتفاجأت من عدم الاهتمام بها من قبل ذوي الاختصاص، شيء مؤسف جداً.

‏ورد في صحيح البخاري عن البراء بن عازب قال : أنهم كانوا مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم يوم الحديبية فأتى بئراً قد نضبت وقعد على شفيرها،ثم قال:ائتوني بدلو من مائها ، فأتي به ، فبصق فدعا ثم قال: دعوها ساعة ، فأرووا أنفسهم وركابهم حتى ارتحلوا . ‏هذه البئر تسمى(بئر التفلة) في ‫عسفان‬ ولم تنضب الى الآن .

النبي محمد ﷺ عندما كان ذاهباً الى مكة كانت هذي البئر مالحة الماء ثم أمر بدلو من البئر ثم تفل به واعادوه الى البئر ثم اصبح ماءهاً عذباً كما ورد في صحيح البخاري

. ماء البئر هماج للاسف. يحتاج الى تدوير حتى يصبح عذبا. لا يوجد اهتمام بالموقع مجرد عنايه من قبل كبار السن بمدينه عسفان كتب الله اجرهم
