Always a favorite place of mine to hang out even if I’m not in the mood for spending cash... the merchandise there is candy to the eyes. Every piece there can fit in every person’s house. Beautiful traditional items with an all time validity :) there are events and art shows on the upper floors. Check their website and app for details and prices to make your shopping trip more organized if your looking to furnish your house, so you don’t miss on the good stuff.

Amazing place! All I know they are interior designer but when I enter the place you can also find antique earrings, rings, all kinds of accessories. Then they have handmade greeting cards, wallets, notebooks, mugs etc etc. They (staff) are very accommodating. You can find also pearl accessories, silver coins and traditional things

Desert Designs is a treasure trove of authentic Saudi artisanship showcasing the beautiful cultural heritage of Saudi Arabia from it's various parts. These are authentic hand-made which makes it special. The shop provides employment to nearly 200 Saudi women who contribute to this wonderful collection. It is a great place to shop for memories of the country for anyone going back to their home country and also to give as gifts. This is a must visit place almost like a museum of the rich local heritage.

This is definitely one of my new favourite places. It is much more than a furniture store.. it is a walk into a beautiful set out furniture as if it is a real Saudi house, according to what one of my friends told me. Not only that, but there is a lot of souvenirs that can be bought for people back home, that is typically saudi! Upstairs you will find an art gallery, stunning. There is also a cafe to drink something while your wife walks around in the area where there is an exhibition or some business / meeting of sorts that Desert Design opens their doors to. Highly recommend this place.

Ever since I was young I’ve had an interest and love for Khaleeji culture, customs and traditions. I have been collecting cultural & ethnic items from the Arab Gulf States for several years now. It’s a medium sized collection, but slowly it’s growing!

I came across Desert Designs searching the Web several months ago and I have no regrets ordering and doing business with them. This store is now one of my number ones for acquiring regional items. They source products from across the region, and even make items in store. Custom orders can be placed as well. It’s awesome to support local and traditional businesses! I love this.

I’ve never been inside the shop but looking from online images and reviews it’s huge! You could spend a whole day in here admiring all the interesting objects. It’s very well laid out. Easily accessible and wheelchair friendly. Parking available too.

They are a family owned business and have been in the market for 25+ some years. This store is well known and respected for its service and exceptional quality products.

I have ordered in the past, a framed silver Khanjar dagger, stuffed plush camel, traditional wooden model Dhow boat, keychains, magnets, a woven Sadu table coaster and a wooden Mabkharah incense burner to name some items. The majority of the items I bought were made in K.S.A.

Very little if anything of their products are made in China etc. This is very crucial for me as well as others. A lot of items are also antiques. An art gallery is located on the top floor and a café is on premises as well.

I’ve read some other posts saying that this store does not have much in the way of local products. While items from other Mid Eastern countries and Asia are sold also, I am going to protest this claim. Just ask any employee and they’ll tell you that a lot of things are locally sourced, the stores website and owners can even confirm this.

The Sadu weavings come from Najd or the surrounding area, the traditional Khanjar daggers are from the South West of the country like Assir, Jazan, Najran and perhaps Yemen. Furniture and custom framing is also produced in house and the paintings are made by locals. Not totally sure where these people got these ideas from? I just wanted to clarify this.

I am looking forward to purchasing more merchandise in the near future. The staff is professional and very bilingual with Arabic, English, and Urdu/Hindi employees.

Unfortunately, I don’t live in the G.C.C. region, I reside abroad, in North America, but shipping is very quick and accurate. Most of my purchases took less than 10 days to arrive. Mr. Fawwaz Muhammad, the salesman I dealt with is very polite and patient. I highly recommend dealing with him!

I’m glad this shop has lots of positive reviews! I would give it further stars if it were possible.

Some items and international shipping are pricy, however if you want true authentic and genuine Arabian Gulf souvenirs, collectables and items this place is the place to go to! Thank you Desert Designs! Shukran!

Love love love. A bit pricy but work it because they will customize ready made items or help create a perfect piece just for you. Rafee at the AL Mujamma location is an incredibly helpful person and always great service with a smile.
