Masjid Al Areesh is historically situated just amidst the planes of Badr, and the battle of badr was fought just near it, and upclose is the place where 7 angels descended by the will of Allah S.W.T for the help and alliance of believers of Allah S.W.T in the great battle of Badr in which they were eventually victorious.

Masjid Areesh is built on the site where the tent of the Prophet (ﷺ) was pitched during the Battle of Badr. The battle was directed from here.
Sa‘d bin Mu‘adh (رضي الله عنه) suggested that a shelter be built for the Prophet (ﷺ) to function as headquarters for the Muslim army.

Areesh’ refers to the shadow of date palms. The original mosque was located approximately where the mimbar is today.

Sa‘d bin Mu‘adh (رضي الله عنه) suggested that a shelter be built for the Prophet (ﷺ) to function as headquarters for the Muslim army. He justified his proposal by saying that if the Muslims were victorious, then everything would be satisfactory. In case of defeat, the Prophet (ﷺ) would not be harmed and he could go back to Madinah where there were more people who loved him and who would come out to help him.

In the field of Badr, our Master Huzoor Nabi e Akram (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pitched his tent here. In Arabic, the tent is called Arish, that is why this mosque was named Arish Mosque.

Visited this masjid as part of ziyarath to badr battle ground and shuhda badr.

Masjid Areesh was built on the site where the tent of the Prophet (ﷺ) was setup during the Battle of Badr. This tent was the headquarters of battle and all battle directions was from here.

Surroundings of this masjid have lots of trees under which we had our lunch. We used the toilets and washrooms here, and left happily 😊

Thank you 🙏😊

A serene and beautiful musjid which is located very close to the battlefield of Badr.

The masjid has an incredibly important role in the battle of Badr and it was surreal that I got the opportunity to visit it.

There is rare medicinal oil and honey for sale outside too.

I would urge you to visit it with a guide who can explain the history and background of this important landmark

I tried to find the well where Abu jahal and others were buried, could not. Found a person who was living in badar city since 14 years. He claimed that no body knows that well, however he showed me a recent dug up well used for irrigation. We crossed the whole badar ground. We even drank from the tube well the water was sour. He took me to the cemetery, and showed me the place where the sahaba were buried. Again there is no authentic source of confirmation for this.
