Place that must be visited during south Serbia visit. With investments and correct managing this place can be not only best tourist destination of south Serbia but Serbia at all.

Great historical site!

When you come and see the site, you can understand the meaning of the power of the Eastern Roman Empire of the 6th century, the power of the Emperor Youstinian the Great and his spouse and co-regent Theodora. This is the very place where the emperor first saw the light of the day.

Great place. Lots of history. The guy (Dragan) has a cool one hour story for you. Its a shame this place is not more visited.

The place is of immense historic and cultural significance. Commissioned by Emperor Justinian himself at the place of his birth, it used to be a regional administrative and military headquarters in the most desperate of times as Roman authority crumbled under the weight of its own decay as well as consequences of the plague and waves of invasion by nations from the other side of the Danube. It should be something to be cherished and fostered, instead of an ordinary pile of rocks and rubble it is now. I wonder, do people who live nearby even know they share their birthplace with someone like Justinian? Government is far from being capable or even interested in providing a proper care for the site, so I guess we won't be seeing any emersive and engaging educational content based around Justiniana Prima

Definitely worth to visit!

Beautiful, historic place, for all the people who like Ancient Roman history. Loved it! Unfortunately, there's no guide, but there's a security manager who knows so much about the place, so you'll get some informations about it. Roads are good, and there's a hotel near by, so you can have lunch or coffee. If you're somewhere near, don't miss the opportunity to see this place <3

Amazing monument, unique in this part of world for sure. It is not close to main road, but it is worth to come here. I will suggest to visit Historical museum in Leskovac before of after visiting this location, since there are all things found there. Definitely you need to take local archaeologist (he was there at time we visit this place) and hear from him all facts about Justinian empire and history of city. You can find 15 orthodox basilica in one place, so it makes this place very unique.

Iako je bilo previše hladno, to nas nije sprečilo da posetimo Caričin grad. Vredi videti.
Ulaznica za odraslu osobu je 250 dinara, a za studente 200/150 nisam sigurna.

Ovo mesto ukoliko posećujete raspitajte se gde je Dragan?! BEZ NJEGA OVAJ ARHEOLOŠKI LOKALITET I MESTO DUHOVNOSTI NEĆE BITI ISTO. Bacićete 500 din za dvoje, neki lik koji ćrće se pojaviti da vam proda te ulaznice reći će vam da je sve ispisano a onda, ubrzo shvatate da su table osim na ulazu u grad, izlizane. Ovaj lokalitet ne treba rekonstrukciju već jednog lika kao što je Dragan koji je riznica znanja i zna da vam približi ceo lokalitet na jeziku običnog čoveka 👌 Postaviću slike ovde i ako ga ugledate ispred lokaliteta pridjite mu i pitajte da vas provede. dobro očuvano arheološko nalazište. Vodič pun informacija i jako ljubazan. Put do vizitorskog centra/restorana održavan i prohodan. Sve preporuke.

Malo je pet zvezdica za ovo mesto, za jednog od naše gore list.

Arheološko nalazište Carićin grad se nalazi 29 km zapadno od Leskovac, 7 km od Lebana, u blizini sela Prekopčelica na ušću reke Carićine u Svinjaricu. Osnovao ga je car Justinijan I u 6 veku, na mestu autohtone gradine Bederijana. Ovakve tvrdnje potkrepljuju ostaci monumentalne donjogradske bazilike sa autentični Justinijanovim monogramom. Carićin grad predstavlja vanredan spomenik antičkog urbanizma i arhitekture. Vredi posetiti i upoznati uživo!!!

Oduševljen sam ovim mestom. Prelep pogled na sve strane, a o kulturnom i istorijskom značaju Caričinog grada treba više pričati.
