Great place for family vacations! A must visit if you are close to Zlatibor, it is not very far, and it is really worth seeing. Going to this village really takes you back to another time of life in Serbia and the exhibitions keep your attention.

The food is real homemade, traditional Serbian and very tasty☺

Before the entrance there is a parking lot, and the entrance fee for the museum could be payed by card. It's a lovely place, many of the old houses being open. A same style restaurant could be found inside the museum area.

In the village of Sirogojno, 26 km from the tourist center Zlatibor, there is the only open-air museum in Serbia "Staro selo". On the location of five hectares, next to the church of St. Peter and Paul, old log cabins were pulled from all parts of Zlatibor, in order to be presented and kept here.
A beautiful place to walk and see what the household looked like at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
Within the museum there is a tavern where you can relax, have a drink and eat something.
If you are tired you can spend the night because rooms are rented within the museum.
In the souvenir shop you can find various wooden objects.
A museum worth visiting because the concept is very interesting. Recommendation for the tour.
The parking lot is located in front of the entrance to the church.

A small village museum to show how real houses were in old times. Unlike other museums you can touch and feel, experience this in real, with real surrounding. There are few souvenirs shops, local families selling woollen clothes, traditional crafts items and accessories. Local Rakia in small bottles, honey and other items sold in those shops.

The original structures were relocated to this wonderful place. We really felt like we had stepped back in time to a simple yet challenging time to live. Highly recommend this experience in a natural setting.

Visited recently. Located next to the pine forest, it really leaves you with a sense that you time traveled to the different period. The exibition consists of numerous houses from the 18th and 19th century, with every building telling it's story.
Also, don't miss the traditional "kafana". Local specialties such as "kacamak", "komplet lepinja", "kajmak" and similar are a must.

Amazing place!! Museum Staro selo, covering nearly 5 hectares with authentic elements of ordinary life collected from all over the Zlatibor region from the 19th century. The ethno village displays a set of traditional wooden buildings, including a bakery, a dairy, and an inn, all in authentic form.

Such a beautiful etno experience! The girl working at the entrance was very helpful and she did the best explaining how the open air museum was created, when, where to go,what to see. The way they were drying tobacco, taking honey, cooking, making different things for households. There was also an exhibition of medical herbs. Overall,it is beautiful, the whole Scenery, tiny houses, where and how families lived and you pretty much get a good idea how they lived in the 19th century. Also, if you come, don't skip the Gostilje waterfalls, just 15min away by car. We will be returning for sure! Can't wait!

The spirit of old days is seen in this ethno village. Kids can learn a lot about the culture and traditions of their ancestors. Foreigners can enjoy the nature and the glimpse of older Serbian way of living.

‘The Old Village’, which this small building is part of, is an open air museum spread over five hectares that was intended to show a way of building and living in the hilly/mountainous regions of Serbia, dating before twentieth century. I think that little building served as a pigsty.
