Dollar Thrifty Rent a Car Belgrade

We rented a car from Dollar &Thrifty at Belgrade Airport. I expected it to be difficult, timely and was a little worried about the quality of car we would receive. When we walked in, all of the staff was highly professional, friendly and helpful. The gal that assisted us was very friendly, worked quickly and we were in our car within about 5 minutes of arriving at the office. We were given a free upgrade and absolutely loved the car we were in for the week.

Dollar was reasonably priced and staff was very helpful . The car was a current model and well maintained. Highly recommend using GPS for directions.

They charge us 250 extra euros for no reason. We made a reservation to drop the car in Croatia. This extra amount was not specified in the reservation... Our budget was ruined.

I've rented car from Thrifty Belgrade two weeks in Aug 2017.

The worst rental experience in over 30 years.
These guys robbed me on multiple levels.

First they forced me to buy their CDW, although I have my own coverage. It was cheap thrick - if you don't buy ours, you have to put deposit 8000 euros.

Second, they gave me car with malfunctioning AC, it was evening, I did not notice right away, and it was too late next day because I was 200km away from Belgrade.

Third, they use 9% markup on exchange rate, for them1 Euro = 130 RSD.
My reservation total cost (all mandatory fees and taxes) was 700 C$ when I booked it over internet.
I ended up paying 1140 C$ (more than 63% over for insurance and exchange markup).

Stay away from these guys by all means.

To be fair, they did answer to may complain.
Hrvoje Samija, guy who posted "all star" review here (see below), said that it is all written in T&C that I will be screewed at the end.

It is their policy, so the only way to protect yourself is to stay away.

Avoid! This is a scam! For example, I booked a car for the price of €13 per day, but I was charged aditional €25 per day plus 20% tax! Among other things, €15 PER DAY FOR WINTER TIRES!!! This is shameless! Authorities of Airport Nikola Tesla in Belgrade should remove this company from their facility!
