Ljubostinja Monastery

Very nice monastery to visit.

Really beautiful monastery with beautiful garden, and old stone church, with building in old traditional architecture. There is plenty of parking in front, little holly shop inside. It is on the main road, but there is peace and quiet, because not much of the traffic is done there,and wood is surrounding it whole. Trstenik, nice city to visit,is also located nearby.

Beautiful female monastery near the town of Trstenik. Monastery Ljubostinja was built in the 14th century, in the Morava style, by master Rade Borović (mostly known as Rade Neimar). Here is the burial place of Princess Milica (wife of Lazar Hrebljanović) and Jefimija (wife of Uglješa Mrnjavčević). Jefimija is also known as the first Serbian female poet. It would be great if you could ask someone from people serving in the monastery to tell you all about the history of the Ljubostinja. Great story.

The Ljubostinja Monastery is located not far from the city of Trstenik. The Ljubostinja Monastery will come from the 14th century. It represents a stationary cultural era as a cultural monument of exceptional significance. The monastery has meadows, forests, vineyards and orchards. Monastery Ljubostinja is a women's monastery and today it preserves about fifty nuns.

This is the one of most beautiful orthodox monasteries on the world. I have a great experience visit him, Architecture, nature, air, kindness etc. Is perfect, history of this monastery is unique! All the best recommendations.

One of oldest Serbian monasteries. Crated in romanic style with beautiful fresco from 13th century.

Beautiful monastery, rich in history and tradition of the Serbian people. It is among the most valuable medieval monuments in Serbia, built by the Serbian Princess in the 14th century. Having in mind that it had been repeatedly destroyed by the Turks throughout the long centuries of the Ottoman occupation of Serbia, it still shines and reminds the Serbs of the glory of the medieval Serbian state.

Nice place to visit and to get to know history of christian orthodox church in Serbia. Very hospitable and modest nuns with broad knowledge of history.

Great historical place to visit. I am not much of a believer myself (an orthodox, just a little bit :) ), but still enjoy coming here.
The church is beautiful, succesfully saved from the time, and yard around it is perfectly taken care of.
The monastery walls lie on a small river (often dry at summer), and up stream starts beatiful forest.

The river Ljubostinja is across the road, and on its bench some smart people built a caffee, that complies with the nature around it.
This is a great place for kids, and anyone that misses some peace and quiet, with a good coffee or beer.

Upstream of the river are some wild beaches, fields, villages...
