Etno podrum „Brka“

For those who haven't tried lamb in this restaurant, the food will be a pleasant surprise. It has the ethno look and a bunch of very traditional dishes. Make sure you call and make a reservation in advance, usually it's full or fully booked.

We found it on Google maps, and that was our luck. Stairway evening, almost film house, but we got a table. The staff was really friendly and kind. The food was really good, everything!
Sadly, we live 700 kilometers away, so cannot go back anytime soon, but I recommend to anyone else who can visit them to do so.

Totally recommend the it for a brake, especially if you are travelling to Bulgaria from Europe.
They speciality is kind of Burek it’s a traditional pie with cheese.
Rakia here is amazing, like at the most places in Serbia.
Grilled meat was superb!

“Banitsa” with cheese - very, very good.
“Paprika u pavlaci” - very nice and just a little bit spicy.
“Grafche vo tafche” - which is actually their baked beans in oven was nice.
Kupus (cabage) salad - typically good.
Pleascavitsa - not bad
As always we have tried traditional alcohol pear and apricot Rakiq:)

The place also has bed and breakfast if you decide to sleep there.
Big parking line.

Definitely recommend it at least for lunch!

Delicious food and cheap prices. On the menu there are grilled specialites and traditional dishes. Service is good and quick. Restaurant is nicely decorated. portions are large enough to satisfy any appetite.

Food was amazing, we tried several different things: cheese pie, sarma with vine leaf, and a couple of other ones, but the out of this world thing was pork thigh/buttock. It melts in your mouth.
And yet... it gets better... the walnut cookie "orasnica" is the best sweet ever. I never liked anything without chocolate but I would trade all of the chocolate of this world to have that walnut cookie again!
Atmosphere was great, old school ethno style, adorable. Service was fast as well.

There are certain things a restaurant looses when it becomes popular and starts operating on a massive scale. I must say I prefer more intimate and guest-oriented places. But I will give it five stars having in mind that prices here are ridiculously low and food quite decent, which leads us to that price-value equilibrium.

Great delicious food with affordable prices. Nice atmosphere with no cell or wifi signal. "Sukana banica" should not be skipped. From other food i recommend "Butkica" :)

Excellent restaurant with authentic food!

Decent service, decent prices. Food is excellent. Veal stew speaks 7 languages, and stutters in 3 more. Beautiful mince meat dishes, tasty and well prepared. The place itself is really nice, with a wall that turned into fountain, wooden tables and old tools on the walls, totally retro. I can wholeheartedly recommend.

Excellent place with amazing local gastro experience. Unbelivable pies (footprint of the place - SUKANA PITA) and minced meat specialites (pljeskavica and ustipci absolutely must have).

Best place to have lunch in Niš. Try reserving seats upfront. If you can't reach them it means they're busy and you'll have to wait around 10mins if you go strait without reservations. Totally worth it.

Very good food, varied menu, fresh sheep cheese, local red wine. We have tested vegetable salads with in particular delicious tomatoes and paprika, lamb meat and fish, everything was delicious!

Excellent food, very polite staff and pleasant atmosphere is what you always get in this restaurant. Food is proper Serbian, so expect lots of meat, delicious traditional pies, great salads and top it off with a lots of kajmak 😉 Try the quince rakia, it's a must..!
