We had a great time at Casa Petri; we stayed 3 nights and we will definitely come back.
Adi & Iulia are great hosts. They were friendly, gave us a lot of suggestions with things to do, places to eat. They are one the few people who actively trying to save Rosia Montana and change its feature from a mining town to a tourism destination with lot of potential. We really admire that!
About the house, the place was great, exactly as in the pictures.Don't expect a posh experience,it's a nice old/ traditional house modernized with everything you need which compensates big time with the atmosphere and it's history ...plus it's very clean.
There is a front yard with an additional outdoor kitchen and terrace. You may also try or/ and buy local products ( tuica, honey etc).
Rosia Montana has a long history and outstanding cultural heritage so it worth visiting the Roman Galleries but also taking a walk in the village or nearby.
And you need to try the food cooked by their neighbour Alina!

We had a great stay at Casa Petri Rosia Montana. I highly recommend it. The host was very welcoming and provided everything that we needed. Host is very well connected with the Rosia Montana community and that helped us organize our trip (tours, food, local and nearby sites to visit, activities). The accommodation had everything that we needed and the host adapted to any specific requests we had during our stay. I hope to stay here again next time I visit Rosia.

An excellent experience, we loved the house, it is very clean and charming, keeps the history of Roșia Montană alive between its walls. The books room is greatly decorated, there is an impressive collection of books. Very comfortable, with all the facilities you need. Also, lovely hosts and a wide area to explore, green hills and forests wherever you look🌲🌳 Highly recommended! 🧡

Awesome accommodation with a cozy feel. Books and vinyls available to make your stay even chiller. There are also local products available for sale if you want to help the local community. The host is very knowledgeable and ready to help if needed. The area is stunning, with lots of easy-medium difficulty treks that begin right next to the house. 100% recommend.

Very nice location, quiet and clean and you can relax in the garden either with the local cats or you can play board games. The host was very friendly and has a lot of knowledge of the area. You can also have delicious breakfast and dinner if you order it in advance.

We "came in hot" with a small kid who'd been complaining about the car ride for a couple of hours, but stepping into the room we instantly felt like we ourselves were kids again, back when we were growing up at our grandparents' houses. The "Books" room was amazing! The fire was burning, the room was warm, which we considered thoughtful and kind of the owner, since we arrived close to midnight and it was rather cold, although it was summertime. There were little notes everywhere, informing you of how-to's and we found a map of the trekking routes as well. We had a nice walk the following day, along one of the easier trails, and then we just chilled in the yard back at Casa Petri. Even if it was raining, there was enough room to chill on bean bags, we had some amazing tea from the tea corner and I pretty much ate all of the ripe fruit I could find in the yard (cherries, raspberries, currants...). The town is small, but very nice and if you are more mobile (no or bigger kids) there are so many places to visit nearby! We were just there for the weekend, but we're definitely not bored and had lots of fun.
I definitely recommend visiting Roșia Montană and staying here!

We stayed at Casa Petri in the Books Room, for four nights. Very nice room, with decorations that reminded us of our grandparents' houses (furniture, old clock) and of childhood (a lot of books we read when we were children). We read some old stories to our kids, during the evening, taking turns with my husband. Very nice experience :)
We had everything we needed for our family.
Besides accommodation, we also had three meals a day there, cooked by Alina, a neighbour. Really tasty food and generous portions. Each evening, when desert was served, kids insited that "this dinner is the best one so far" :)))
Besides the excellent walking tour with Cristi, a local guide (our 11 years's old daughter declared that she could have walked for days, that much she enjoyed it!), across Casa Petri there is a park, where kids played and also enjoyed the company of a bunch of colourful cats and very friendly dogs (when we left, our youngest ones cried that they would miss cats and everything, but that's another story).
A lot to visit in Roşia and in its surroundings or you can stay in nature and enjoy beauty and silence.
We hope to be at Casa Petri again next summer.
Thank you very much indeed to our hosts for the very good time we had!

Roșia Montană has been a wonder for us ever since we learned about the new way that people wanted to extract the gold. We are a couple that love heritage sights so Roșia was on our list for a long time.

Casa Petri seemed to be the best choice for what we wanted. We found a perfect place to unwind from the daily hectics and 3 days passed like a charm. We stayed în the book house and we felt the attention to details starting from the bathroom to the books available to read. Outside, it was already towards summer so green and welcoming.

We are continuing to recommend Casa Petri to all our friends. Adrian and his family are full of stories that you should hear at least once. We will clearly come back as we already miss it!!

One of my favourite accommodations ever.
Nice, clean, cozy place and awesome hosts. They will tell you all the stories you need to know about Rosia Montana, they can guide you around the village.
You can also buy homemade jam or some traditional Romanian alcohol drinks, called "palincă, vișinată, afinată".
I just love this place.

I love this place. It makes me feel like a kid again, visiting with my grandparents house. The owner are very kind and always eager to help and give advice with things to do arownd Rosia Montana. I recommend with all my heart. Casa Petri is more than accommodation in the region, it's exactly as it says in the name "Casa"... a house...your home away from home.

We always come with pleasure at Casa Petri and at Rosia Montana. We find it very suitable for a relaxing getaway, with not too many people around, with lots of activities to do outside, suitable for all ages, including young children.

The house is very welcoming and cosy, keeping everything simple and bringing back to life village stories and traditions.

The other reviews are right -- this place is superb. It has everything you'll need and if there is anything they don't have the (charming) hosts will get it for you.

We camped on their front lawn and loved every minute of it.

There is space for two tents but I'm sure they'd know nearby places where more tents could be pitched. The cost is 35 RON (£7) per person but it's worth it as you get access to their kitchen and bathroom, as well as their advice and friendliness.

I had breakfast for just 10 RON (£2.50) which consisted of coffee, bread, cheese, jam, locally made sausages (which I declined) and locally made butter that was the best I've ever had in my life. It's lunchtime and I'm still full.

A good time to visit would be winter when there are few tourists and you'll have the place to yourself and snow on the ground.

Roșia Montana was an amazing experience and staying at Casa Petri helped in a very pleasant way. First, the place is right in the center of Roșia Montană old town so you have access to a lot of places to go wether it's hiking on your own using the maps or hiring a guide that will educate you in the colorful history of the old Village. The place we stayed had all the amenities you need: bathroom, shower, hot water a small fridge etc. The host was very pleasant and took time to explain the history of the house we were staying in and gave us all the info around town and also gave us a list of people around town that we can call wether it was for food or groceries or hiking guides. We definitely recommend you give Alina a call for the food. We had breakfast and dinner that she prepared and it was simply delicious and just sooo goood. Oh and you also have an assortment of board games and local, home made food, drinks you can buy, plus Casa Petri offers mountain bikes, should you feel in the mood for pedalling around the hills. All in all it was an awesome and relaxing experience. 100% recommend. Peace and love y'all.

Amazing place in the center of Rosia Montana square. From here you can rent bicycles, go on hikes ( there are 4 tours around the village ) or just relax in the garden. Each day you can take tours organized by locals around the area. You can buy food from the locals or souvenirs crafted in Rosia Montana ( the contacts will be offered at check-in ).

A great place to stay and start your journey in Rosia Montana. It's located right in the heart of the village and you'll be able to experience a throw back in time while having all that is needed for the present day comfort (heated rooms, hot water, wifi etc.)
