Unique in the world and now on the Unesco World Heritage list. The only gold mine in the world continuously in function for more than 2000 years. Roman galleries, Medieval galleries, modern era galleries, you have’em all. A must see.
The guide provided good informations. Don’t enter the mine if you are claustrophobic, you have plenty to see on the outside too.

I recommend going to the museum. You can visit it every day from Monday to Friday and in week-ends if you are in large groups ( 6 persons at least ). The experience to go inside a 2000 years old mine is fantastic, also the guide's presentation is awesome ( it feels like going back in the past ). It would be shame not to visit this fantastic cultural part of Rosia Montana.

A place full of stunning history! A museum that is unfortunately (not yet) officially a museum. And a dedicated presentation made by our guide, Mr. Ing. Rusu. Long life Roșia Montană!

Amazing guide. Worth taking the time and really listen to his stories. Good for brain, body and soul :) If possible, leave a donation, as the quality of the information shared is way above the ticket price.

As an experienced underground miner of 30 years in various types of mining this is a fantastic tour. Almost 2000 years of history to be felt first hand. Well worth a look.
