One of the main attractions in Baia Mare, the tower seems recently renovated and it looks really nice. It can be visited for a very cheap fee, but you need to read the instructions for visiting the tower near the entrance. We read them afterwards and missed the fact that the bell is still in service and the visits depends on the time intervals when the bell is ringing. There is a nice view of the city from the top of the tower and 15 to 30 minutes should be enough for the visit. The square where the tower is located is nicely renovated as well, hence while in town, spending 1 hour here is very relaxing

Free entrance to the tower, it's important to go after the clock does it's job otherwise you're going to have a headache 😆

Beautifully restored it features very little in terms of history, basically just some details at the bottom, not much of a museum if that is what you look for. The main attraction is the view from above

Few years ago restored, now it's an amazing place, and offers a great view/panorama of the city. It may be difficult for some of you to climb up, as it is quite narrow and in some places steep, but it's worth it. Also the square around the tower is beautiful and has some ancient walls under a solid glass surface. Free entrance.

Incredible experience, 360° view from the balcony, a lot of city history concentrated in a small space. It's a must visit place for both tourists and locals

A nice historical building in the center of Baia Mare. They did a pretty well job with thw restauration. You can have a very nice view over the city of Baia Mare. It is cheap to visit and it should not take a long time to do so, it is a quik stop. You can then visit the city center and have something to eat or drink because you are close to everything.

If you want to see a breathtaking view of Baia Mare from above, this is the place. Stunning from the outside and inside. Keep in mind the tower can be visited based on the schedule posted outside ( usually at sharp someone comes and opens the door, tickets can be bought from the info point - 2 ron or something similar). Definitely worth it.

Staff was very nice. They let me in last minute and I could check out the city and the scenery from up there. The internals of the tower were magnificent as well, especially the machinery of the clock and the bell. Thank you!

The Tower's plaza is well designed and also incorporates two churches. Tower access is free but keep in mind that only a handful of people can enter and climb to the top as there is only one way in/out.

Built by John Hunyadi after an important victory against the Ottomans and finished around 1468 by Matthias Corvinus, Stephen's tower served as a bell tower for Saint Stephen's Church. A symbol of the Baia Mare City, it is open to visitors.

Stephen's Tower is one of the most beautiful towers that I know im Romania. Well restored and offers a nice view over the town.
Baia Mare, one of the cities that has my appreciation because it offers you all the benefits of a city but also the change to be in the middle of the nature in only a few minutes.

Depending where you will stay, could also offer a beautiful view of the mountains around the town.

Make sure you get there during visiting hours. View from the top as well as going up experience are worth it. Also read the story beforehand. It has nothing to do with "Stefan cel Mare" of Moldavia but with St Steven of Hungary.

Awesome view from the top of the tower. The square shows the remaining parts of the old church.

A piece of town history very well presented, especially by the ruins covered with glass
