"Târgu Mureș" Fortress

Great place to spend some quality hours.
We used the Actionbound app to have some fun with an item quest.
We were lucky enough to come on a day when a classic auto show was inside and a small fair outside.
Great place to spend a day with your kids.

A well-reserved and well-used piece of Hungarian history. Come here for some good concerts and the atmosphere.

Visiting this place almost everyday

As soon as you climb the stairs or enter through the food court wing you are greeted with a peace and quietness between these walls. Unreal, yet deep inside the central district.

It's open from 9:00-21:00.
Daytime / night time - anytime is a good time here. You can explore the ramparts and see the city from within them, chill on benches scattered throughout the fortress grounds and have a bite to eat at the tables in the food wing.

Very well repaired, some museums are ready to be visited, a restaurant / coffee shop is also available, good photo spots, very centrally located. Definitely worth to pay a visit.

A restored citadel in the heart of Târgu Mureș. The place looks great and you can enjoy some time visiting it. We went on June 1St , Children's international day , and the place was very very crowded as there were many activities for the toddlers.

Came here for my Brother's wedding a week ago and I must say I was really impressed with everything. It chamged massively since I last came here about 7 years ago. It was really clean, tidy, a lot of green spaces and trees were nicely trimmed and seemed healthy. Couple of places to grab a pint or food with outside sitting areas and a few food trucks just outside the citadel. Would definitely recommend it 👌🏻

The fortress became an amazing place to relax, especially with children. You could have a picnic on the grass, a walk around, a meal at the restaurant or just sit on a bench. It is clean and safe for children, close to downtown but pretty peaceful. There is a public toilet you can use. Lots of concerts and activities of all kind are held in there so watch out. No tickets needed, the entrance is free.

Excellent atmosphere for a nice walk between the historical walls, some kid's play or snipping a beer.

Awesome, beautiful fortress with intense cultural life and lots of places for kids

The fortress is a very relaxing place to go to even just for a walk or to grab some ice-cream. Many students come here to study or just enjoy the view. It looks the best in summer and there are a lot of social events that take place inside. Definetly worth a visit

Awesome visit for a relaxing stroll. Not much to visit in Targu Mures but this is a must! Entrace is free. Lots of people walking or coffee shops!

Beautiful Citadell with no entry fees. Nicely restored buildings and gardens. A great, green hideout for everyone on hot summer days.

Very nice medieval building in the middle of the city. It is newly refurbished and it looks very good.
There are many places to explore, a photographer’s dream with many ruins, vintage spots.
It is very nice to have a picknick somewhere, to listen to the music or simply admire the view and relax in the quietenss if there are no groups visiting.
There are some museums and Galleries if you fancy them.

Quiet pleasant public park.

Very good ethnography museum. They had a temporal special exhibit of scientific art done by a local who is also a Harvard professor. Museum hostess most helpful.

A very nice, historical location, browse around or sit in the Sun, the choice is simply yours. Lovely relaxing place.

Nice experience. Serene place, closed to city center. It's like a beautiful park with a museum, a restaurant and an old cathedral. The views over the city are unique. The towers and roofs of all the iconic buildings of the city are visible from the fortress. There are some food vans at the main gate from where the visitors can buy ice cream, beer or snacks. It's a popular location for wedding and graduation pictures.
