Dracula Camping

Great camping spot. Has a fence round so bears can't get in. Lovely showers, modern and powerful. Think it was 60lei/night for camper, 1 person and dog.

This is the Real Castel of Vlad Tepesh who considered to be Dracula, well the ruines up above the hill are what left from Vlad castel, This is the real dracula castle and not the one in pelesh or bran.
Vlad build this castel/ fortress long ago as an escape place for his family.
We stopped there on our day trip in the carpatians mountains and the tour guid told us the whole story of Vlad, Dracula, how they promote the rumers of dracula on Vlad.
The place is now (october 2023) under renovation before it will be opened again for the public.
In order to go from the road up to the castel, there are 1440 stairs through the forrest that reach up to the castel, Vlad specialy build it that way so if he will be attacked it will be very hard to his enemys to go up to the castel.
The whole story of Vlad beeing Dracula was made up by the Transilvanyans people who did not like Vlad and thats why they invented all kinds of rumers that he is dracula and a vampire.
The Romenians saw this opptunity to take this up and build a Tourist legend about Dracula and his castel.
This is the story we were told by our local tour guide who is a romenian and know this story.

Stunning setting! Great facilities. There isn't much grass, so if you're camping, take a mattress. The communal barbecue area is really welcome - it even has a refrigerator! Surrounded by a decent fence, so bears shouldn't be a problem.

Well-equipped, nice camping. Between mountains and trees, in a quiet place. There is a place for a tent, there is a small wooden house with an external toilet and there is a wooden house with a bathroom. Very romantic. It is not expensive, there is a restaurant 100 meters away.

The place is affordable (25lei per person), it has 2 hot showers and 2 toilets. You can rent a small hut for 2 ppl for 80lei. We heard there are a lot of bears in the river valley, but we did not see any :(( if you want to visit the castle beware of the scammers near the entrance to the stairs! The real ticket booth is after the climb!

Brilliant camping for those travelling to and from Transfagarasan. Little houses available for a reasonabl price in case you are not happy with the weather. Good host, great location. Had a great time.
They also agreed to send a thing I forgot to another country, a huge thanks for that!
Would definitely stay again

A good spot to stay for one or two nights. It's beside the stairs to the castle (ruin) of Vlad. Toilets are clean, shower is great!

Occupancy varies day by day, yet the cabin houses are preferred accommodation choice, with prices varying from 16 to 60€ according to size, per night in peak season. However many guests are in transit and stop by just for a night.

A beautiful place, great views. Near the nature. Very nice owner.
