Metrópole Restaurante & Bar Lounge

This is hands down the nicest restaurant I have ever been to. The service was second to none and the flat iron steak was phenomenal!!!! Amazing flavour. The Sangria was the nicest I've had too. Diogo and the rest of the team were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone and will return on my next visit to Portugal.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Metropole Restaurant not once, but twice within a span of three days, and I must say, it was magical.

From the moment we stepped inside, the service was nothing short of extraordinary. The waitstaff greeted us with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to ensure our dining experience would be memorable.

Oh, the food! We savoured the flavours of the region by indulging in a bottle of their recommended red wine, which proved to be a divine pairing for our meal.

The menu offered great options, and we opted for starters, grilled cod, and wild boar. Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing the finest ingredients. The flavours were really well balanced!

The desserts deserve a special mention. The local fig and carrot cake, along with the pavlova-styled house desserts, were simply outstanding. The combination of flavours, textures, and presentation was exceptional.

Adding to the charm of our visit was the presence of the Head Chef, who took the time to visit every table and engage in friendly chats with the guests. This personal touch added a warm and welcoming ambiance to the already delightful atmosphere of the restaurant.

Metropole has undoubtedly secured its place as the best restaurant I have experienced this year.

I enjoyed salmon, black risotto and the Charlie and the chocolate factory dessert. The chocolate icing was delicious. I also had a very good melon alcohol beverage. I didn't have reservations as I didn't see that option on the website. Apparently you have to call to make reservations. I was seated inside and didn't see any other customers for nearly 30 minutes, then a rush of people arrived around 7:30 pm. Service was top notch, too.

This place is Excellent .. fantastic food, great serving staff, highly recommended.

We visited the metropole restaurant on Monday evening for a meal & it did not disappoint . We returned this evening for the same meal before we fly home tonight . It’s the best steak we have both ever had - truly beautiful . My partner hasn’t stopped talking about the steak all week so of course we had to go back before headed back to the UK .
Amazing service , high quality & you pay for what you get . We normally stay in alvor when we come to Portugal so have never come across this little gem of a restaurant , this will be our new favourite when we visit .

What a great discovery of this trendy restaurant serving delicious food! Great service, good not too large menu, traditional and trendy..great cocktails, lovely fish and seafood and even meat was hyper tasty! Compliments to the chef! We highly recommend and happy to have quite by accident found this restaurant..fromthe outside already we decided immediately to have dinner there!

Had a short visit to Armacao de Pera for Easter weekend and went straight here for lunch and had their rib eye steak and Prawn curry. The food was amazing and the beef was AAA North American rating! We loved the food so much we came back for dinner to try the T- Bone steak and the Wagyu Beef carpaccio salad which was the best I’ve ever had.
The servers make it the whole dining experience even better as they are friendly, speaks English and give the best recommendations. Will be back in our next trip to Portugal next year !

Had a really lovely meal here. The steaks in the Russian Roulette were amazing. The cod was fresh and tasty. My favorite was the Iberian Pork which was full of flavor without being gamey. We enjoyed their desserts too. Service was attentive and friendly. We had a memorable dinner overall.

What an amazing find, really first class restaurant, beautiful decor , superb steaks I had the T bone, my son the ribeye, my wife the burger and my daughter pineapple shrimp curry! All outstanding with equally stunning red wine. Our waiter Dio was attentive and gave excellent recommendations on the steaks and wine . 5 star

THE BEST restaurant in Portugal! Spent a couple days in Lisbon and didn't find any seafood restaurant as good as Metropole in Algarve! Price was also reasonable. Service was also very good - all waiters are all so friendly unlike how they are in Lisbon. Would definitely come back just to eat here again.

While on holidays in Portugal, we decided to try here for food and drinks. Wow was it impressive! The service was outstanding from the minute you walked in. We had a lovely waiter Tiago who took care of us for the evening and gave his recommendations on wine and food.

It was so good we made sure we came back a second time before flying back home, of course we had Tiago looking after us again. I went with the Madeira Island (garlic bread) for starter and the metrópole steak for main. Delicious food, great service, highly recommend checking it out!

Right on the corner watch the world go by. Steak and burgers great ambience excellent service. Reasonable prices. Covert not very good but good menu. Famous for its tomahawk steak. The service excellent.
