Intermarché Sesimbra

I have been living in Sesimbra for 3 years now having moved here from Surrey in UK and in that time Intermarché has consistently become better and better to the point we pretty much do all our shopping there. Prices of supermarket goods have been high in all supermarkets in Portugal and I think that is the case everywhere, it definitely is in UK specially after Brexit, but if you look you can find good products that are affordable. In Intermarché I would recommend their own brand called "Porsi" and avoid the branded stuff as Porsi actually is often better quality, in our opinion. We used to think the Supermarket had a "funny" smell but now we know it's because in Portugal they simply adore Cod that has been dried in Salt and they stack it normally next to the fish counter and the smells spreads, for the Portuguese there is nothing wrong with that and now we barely notice it anymore as we have gotten used to it. I think the Staff here are the best in Sesimbra, particularly Diana in the tills, She is always happy, always acknowledge us, we always have a quick laugh whilst being served and it just adds to the quality of the experience, she is such a lovely Lady. All the staff is nice but unfortunately I can't remember their names. They have butchers and fishmongers which are always well stocked and people make a line to be served, it's very popular. The fruit section looks really good, they have a good range of international products that can be hard to find elsewhere, they have a very large alcohol section and the most important to us their health range and vegan and vegetarian products are without a doubt the best in the area, I hope they will also at some point introduce fresh vegetarian products as at the moment only dry goods, things like fresh veggie sausages, veggie burgers, veggie falavels, veggie sandwich protein slices etc would be fantastic..... maybe one day :)
Anyway a great place to shop.

Lads if you’re looking for a cheap offie in the doncaster of Portugal you’ve come to the right place. 5L of wine for €5, what an absolute bargain. Naughty natas on tap, 420/69 would go again

Love the pasteries at the cafe the fresh bread is amazing (usually no one is perfect)
And the produce never lets me down!

Óptima atmosfera, excelentes produtos. As refeições prontas para take away são de uma qualidade enorme, de longe as melhores em comparação com as que estão á venda nos outros supermercados. Talho muito bom, peixaria e claro o melhor de todos os pães, o pão da Azoia.
