We walked into this restaurant based on its good Google rating and we were pleasantly surprised with how good the food and service was.

The tiger prawns and fries, sea bass and grilled octopus were all excellent! I had the flambé chorizo as my appetizer and it was not only an experience but it had great flavors too! (all dishes pictured)

In a sea of local restaurants that can sometimes be confusing this one is a winner!

This was a great find. We had really great food and the staff was wonderful. They were very accommodating to us and our child. And we also appreciated the atmosphere. It's a busy restaurant and there's lots of really cool history and memorabilia on the walls for you to explore.

Possibly the best meal of the trip.

We had the seafood rice which was plentiful and delicious. The rice was not overcooked, seasoned well and had lots of good seafood. As starters, the octopus salad and the chorizo were great too.

Service was fast and efficient and friendly - thank you!

I didn't have reservations and luckily got seated after about 30 min of waiting. Definitely worth the wait! The bacalhau com nata dish was the best!!! We also ordered the seafood rice, which could feed 4 people. Saw another table ordered the flaming sea bass that looked so amazing. Very personable waitstaff.

Very beautiful place. The food was amazing, and the portions were super big, so everything is good to share.
Most of us had seafood rice, we asked rice for 4 people, and it was so big that 6 or 7 could have eaten from it. It was great, with plenty of seafood.

The service was probably the best thing. They were super friendly and very accommodating.

If you’re looking to try Portuguese food in Porto, you MUST eat here. We loved the food and service so much, we went twice during our 3 day visit - highly recommend the Roasted Octopus, Grilled Squid, and Chocolate Cake for dessert.

Highly recommended the seafood rice !!!!! But please make sure there are more than 4 people in your party. the menu mentioned seafood rice is for 2 people. But actually it’s for more than 4 persons..

Wonderful diner and service, on a busy national holiday night. Really the best meal and hospitality at a restaurant we experienced, on a short break in historic Porto. The experience enhanced with being situated an old wine cellar. The waiters explained what each meal was and no question too much, answered thoroughly, and with a great sense of humour.

1. Everyone may wants to eat beside river. But you can invest your 2 hours here. It’s deserved.
2. Arroz de Marisco.. is wonderful and good for chilly weather. Taste per cost is incredible.. much better than other restaurants in Lisboa!
3. Quite big seabass in salt. It’s also nice.
4. Members of Postigo do Cavao were all kind and fast. Thank you for all.
5. Recommend to have one meal here.

Tried the lamb with rice dish, and it was fantastic! The lamb was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the fluffy rice. A satisfying and delicious choice for anyone craving a hearty lamb meal.

What a fantastic lunch !!! The food was awesome … and there was so much of it. What is impressive is that they have a good program and nothing goes to waste. Shredded potato with Cod and the chicken with salad - all very good ! And then came desert OMG!

The seafood here is incredible! So fresh and so flavorful! My wife and I came here for a celebration dinner and went all out. Clearly. Seafood lovers paradise. The service was excellent as well. You must make a stop in here. Also, best white sangria we've had !

Very friendly staff brought us to the table and they were flexible in order taking (we deviated from the menu a bit). Portions were HUGE and great quality! Did not save on the seafood at all, my tuna was massive and my wife’s seafood rice had loads of nice seafood. Amazing place!!!

Forget what you know already, and come here for what you want to explore with respect to the local kitchen. This excellent gastronomic establishment serves homemade local food with a first-class service. Even when the restaurant is packed, the staff takes its time to recommend dishes and speak about Porto’s history. Stay patient when queuing, it’s worth the wait - kitchen closes at 11:15pm.

What a wonderful restaurant. We went there with a friend who lives in Porto. She said we'd like it and we did. Generous portions moderately prices. You must try the seafood rice. Unbelievably good. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was enjoyable. Very comfortable

The food was amazing, the service impeccable and the waitstaff is incredibly courteous as well as friendly. My tastebuds and my tummy were singing a duet during this dinner.

My favorite restaurant in Portugal after a 10-day trip, this place had the best arroz de marisco ever. The seafood was flavorful and fresh, the soup very well seasoned, the portion size more than generous, the service warm and friendly, the ambiance lively and charming, all for a very reasonable price. I would absolutely come back next time I visit Porto, and I heartily recommend it to anyone who wants a good Portuguese meal.

Great little restaurant with fab food and service. Nice ambiance in authentic building. Plenty of GF options. Best meal in our 7 day visit to Portugal - highly recommend- BUT make a reservation and they do book up.
