Maratona Café Restaurante

Really good value for money.
We paid 53€ for 1 starter, 2 mains, 1 dessert and a bottle of wine.
All the dishes were really tasty and carefully presented. The style is modern but not pretentious.
Only downsides: they are a bit too slow and you cannot pay with American Express

Nice food and drinks, the chevre burguer and the soups were amazing.

Superb dishes and excellent service. The wine list is excellent and the food is well prepared and beautifully presented. Traditional Portuguese recipes with a modern touch and tasteful sauces. I recommend coxinhas and grilled bacalhau. Surely I will be back there soon.

Delicious food, perfectly presented. The dishes are cheap compared to their quality. The personnel is kind. 1 starter, 2 mains (vegetarian option), 1 dessert, 1 bottle of wine: 53eur. 2 negative points: lack of air conditioning due to covid-19 (???) and slow service (although probably related to the excellent dish presentation). I would definitely visit again

Much improved since our last visit. However the waiter sold it to us as more of a tapas place now with a dew mains. Beware, the tapas are easily enough for 2.

Decent food, good service, and a nice outdoor atmosphere. All at reasonable prices. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

I went about 2230 looking for a place that was open. They not only were open but had a good variety of burgers and fresh juices as well.

Been here plenty of times, sometimes during lunch, it is fully packed. Nothing negative about it, it just shows how much everybody loves to be there to eat or just drink something and chill.

Perfect atmosphere for dining in experience. Never once did I get disappointed with the food and service qualities. Whenever food is served, I love how the food were displayed, simple, yet beautifully displayed and well cooked.

Portuguese culture usually drink coffee after mealtimes, however, they have other drink options if you don't want to drink a coffee.

The food and indoor decorations are always important for me, to enjoy the food and to enjoy being in the restaurant/café. Thumbs up to the indoor deco, staff, chefs and food 👍

fabulous meal at Maratona. fine dining at sensible prices.
the tuna starter was spectacular and my duck with pear ravioli was delicious.
we ordered house wine by the glass - excellent. the service was friendly and efficient. lovely evening.

Maria was a very friendly and helpfull young lady!! She was really awesome with our kids and did something special for the birthday of my Father!! Big up girl!! Big thank you ❤

Really good burgers and desert, I would ask for several juices though because one won't do the deed.

Amazing food and staff. Beautiful place

I'm usually not a big fan of risotto but this was excellent, firm texture, not too acid, not too sweet despite being beetroot. Very positively surprised. Service was very nice too. Edit: forgot to add, enough vegetarian options for a restaurant in Portugal.

Deceiving from the outside. This restaurant also has a popular "snack bar" which has outside seating. I have walked by this place dozens of times but did not know there was a sit-down restaurant here too.
Decor is nice, rather modern, and staff was very friendly. I am American and was with a Portuguese native who had been here before and knew to make reservations. Do NOT expect to get a table without a reservation, even during the lunch service.
Food was great and the daily lunch special is quite reasonable. I am told that the special does not repeat during a month, meaning there is quite a variety and you won't get tired of eating there!!
I will be back many times to enjoy Maratona.

Blues and breakfast. Have coffee and tea , croissant and pastel . Fresh and pastel is really crispy with eight amount is sugar. They serve Lavazza coffee. Decent choice is teas and have them with hot milk. I recommend granola bowls all decent size and freshly made. Having blues music on during breakfast creates a perfect mood to explore Caldas.

My family and I ate on the "cafe" side of the restaurant which is a more relaxed atmosphere. I have been to both sides and I must say that you get the same level of service which is excellent! The food has been amazing! It's a mix of different cuisines and all of them thus far have not let us down.

Went for breakfast. Great quality of products, nice variety in fresh juices (which is rare in Portugal) and nice staff. Terrace and inside area are nice.

There is a cafe, a summer garden and the restaurant itself, all are nice and kid friendly. The food was exquisite! Martina is definitely a flavor you don't want to miss when making your plans to visit Caldas da Raina.
We were there with kids and the staff was very friendly and supportive.
