Had the best time in this charming boutique winery and could not recommend it enough! Tiago and his family hosted us for wine tasting & tapas tasting with dreamy views to their vineyard - one of the most unique experiences we’ve had! Each wine was incredible with an amazing traditional Portuguese tapas!

We absolutely loved our visit to Sapateiro. The Vineyard itself, and the location is quite charming as is the story behind the origins of the winery. The pairings they provided were perfect. I think what we appreciated most about this is that they take chances with their wines and you get to taste wines that you wouldn’t often come across and I truly appreciate that. You can see the passion behind the projects as the winemaker explains the reasoning and the goals behind a certain wine. This absolutely elevates the experience. We would go back anytime.

WOW! Tiago and Silvi have created a unique and special experience at Sapateiro! Even in the winter off season, we would recommend a scheduled stop at Sapateiro. It has been the highlight of our trip to Portugal! Of note, we found the process of messaging Tiago on WhatsApp (link on their website) super fast and easy to set up the tasting, as well as to communicate any dietary needs. We were able to learn more about the history of the vineyard, as well as do a wine tasting with tapas experience. Tiago explaining what inspired him to make each wine, with Silvi personally making and explaining how each tapas course paired with each wine was a match made in heaven. I could not recommend this experience enough, and we will be back next time we are in Portugal!

Of note, they even had special touches like period products and a changing table for children with diapers in their bathroom area. They have really thought of everything to make the experience great for everyone!

Our family had an amazing time. Tiego was informative and gave us a lot of knowledge about winemaking in Portugal. The property was stunning! We loved the food made by Sylvie. Wonderful time overall!

What an incredible experience. Silvi and Thiago are wonderful hosts and they take the time to explain everything wine related from a regional and local perspective. They do provide a wide variety of wines for you to taste and the cheese table is just crazy generous indeed quantity as well as variety. They both are very close and open about the way the vineyard operates.

Will totally come back again in the future, you totally get way more than what you pay for.

Tiago and Sylvi were incredibly hospitable, welcoming, and knowledgeable. We toured the property and then enjoyed some delicious homemade Portuguese tapas accompanied by their equally delicious wines, which we were eager to buy and bring home. Beautiful views, delicious food and wine, and wonderfully attentive hosts!

We've done wine tasting all over the world. Nothing was as personable as our visit to Sapateiro. Tiago & Silvi we're gracious hosts. Tiago the owner, showed us around, giving us the rich history of the vineyard that was started by his father, a local shoemaker, who made wine for his friends. Tiago's passion for creating wine is how Sapateiro started.

We had a wonderful day drinking some of the best wines on a beautiful outdoor patio over looking the vineyards. We shared some great stories and this will be a lovely memory that will last forever. We enjoyed the wine so much, we bought a case and are having it shipped to our home and we can’t wait for it to arrive!

I highly recommended a visit here if you're in Portugal. Call in advance, you don't want to to miss this.

We had the most wonderful hosts , Tiago & Sylvi. The wines were excellent and we enjoyed the private tour and visit of the orchards. The board of snacks was light and refreshing and made it interesting for our 13 year old as well. Lovely family run business, great people and nothing like we experienced before and we’ve seen many winery tours. Great info about the history of the region with a view into new opportunities for the future! Good luck to this family from the Canadians! 👍

A wonderful winery owned by great people. Sapateiro is in a beautiful setting and produces delicious and unique wines. Tiago, Silvi and crew are passionate about what they do and it is mirrored in the winery experience. They are so welcoming in sharing their wines, food and love of what they do. I can't wait to visit again.

This was an incredible experience, unlike any tasting I’ve tried before. Visiting Sapateiro winery feels like coming home. A family run, boutique winery, with a meticulous passion for the art of winemaking. Lovely origin story, too, with rich history and charm.

Tiago was a fantastic host, and Silvi has an eye for detail & knack for presentation. I have tasted wines all over the world from Napa Valley, to the Bordeaux region - but this truly takes the cake. Be prepared to spend a couple hours here…perhaps longer b/c you’ll be engaged, ask questions, and walk around the vineyards.

It’s nestled among hills just 45 minutes or so outside of Porto. My group of 4 enjoyed deliciously paired cheeses and charcuterie, and purchased quite a few bottles to take home, at a great price point. Looking forward to sharing this hidden gem with many others!

We’ve just left Tiago and Slyvie moments ago and what a lovely couple and incredible experience. Definitely visit and experience for yourself. We couldn’t recommend more highly! Tiago is so knowledgable and nothing is too much trouble for Slyvie to cook up a storm in the kitchen !

We visited Sapateiro winery on our road trip through Portugal. Tiago was the best host and explained everything about vinho verde there is to know. From history to production process and of course through tasting of 4 beautiful wines. The cheese/meat board was delicious. Very pleasant and tasty experience!
