Taberna Rio Restaurante

Nice environment complete with street singing. Very good food. We really enjoyed the bread with olive oil and the deliciously seasoned butter and olives, as well as the fried octopus and the absolutely delicious Shrimp Hotdog. I really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant.

The dinner was amazing and I would highly recommend the restaurant. A small intimate restaurant in front of the river in a busy touristy location but with proper food and flavours. Josue, our server was great and made some fantastic recommendations. Definitely try the Pernil Assado.
I would come back to the restaurant.

I stumbled upon this restaurant and was greeted by such a lovely, friendly host. I wanted to sit outside to enjoy the views of the Dom Luís I Bridge but there was no availability but Clayton, the host, kindly suggested that there was availability inside the restaurant and as soon as a table was available outside, I could move out there so I accepted and sat inside. The whole staff was super friendly and kind. They were all constantly checking in on me to make sure I was okay, especially Clayton.

Once there was a spot for me outside (which didn’t take long at all, maybe 10 minutes if that) I sat outside with my sangria as I waited for food.

Also, it’s worth mentioning I had no idea what to order and Marcileo, my waiter, was so kind and offered me great suggestions on what to eat depending on what I was in the mood for. I decided to get the Bao Bacalhau buns (one of Marcileo’s favorites) and they were so so GOOD. I 100% recommend. The fish was so fresh and the buns were extremely soft. They used a Mayo based sauce and it complimented the fish perfectly. For my second entre I got a typical Portuguese dish called Francesinha. It was super delicious as well.

This place was fantastic. Right on the water with beautiful views and excellent food. We had the couvert (bread+olives+butter), the flames shrimp, the cod fritters, and the seafood rice. All we're excellent. And the sparkling wine sangria was light and refreshing. Highly recommend!

A great spot for dinner. Very lively (music can be a little loud) and a nice view of the Douro. The food was amazing. The sangrias are absolutely perfect. The service was a little slow but considering the number of people, it was totally acceptable. Overall, highest recommend !

Best Sangria I had in Portugal! We also had the francesinha sandwich and the arroz con frutos do mar. Everything was delicious. The restaurant is a charming little spot on the Duoro River. Very friendly service. I highly recommend.

Had a great dinner here with my partner. We only paid about 70 Euro with tip for two meals (both got cod burger & fries), an appetizer (green bean tempura), dessert (hazelnut brownie) and a bottle of white sparkling wine which all were delicious. Staff was friendly and quick, and we loved the design feel of the place and obviously location!

We had a lovely lunch here. The price/quality ratio is one of the bests for the restaurants right next to the river in Porto. We were waiting for another restaurant, but as they took so long we ended up finding a table here, which was fantastic. There was even a musician right next to us which made experience even better. The food and the drinks were delicious. The price was acceptable too. I recommend it!

Great options for sangria (we tried all 3) whilst enjoying the fun vibe of the river front crowds. I also had their francesinha which was tasty.

This place has an amazing vibe since this reggae singer is usually there and you can chill admiring the Douro river and the bridge while listening to good music and enjoying delicious food. We've ordered some garlic prawns and the fried octopus and was so tasty!!! The staff is super friendly.

If you get past the service, which is a bit clumsy, you'll get great tapas-style food for a price that charges the view and location. I had two baos (chinese "fluffy bread" sandwich), and if the price weren't so high, I'd definitely go for a third one. The Bao Bacalhau is incredible. Would try again!

really nice drinka the portonic is great highly recommended and the environment is really cozy love it. the staffs there are great and they kindly made mullwine for me in this natal season very sweet. recommend the restaurant can have mullportwine for the season recepe😁😁

Quite possibly the tastiest, and most generous portion, of sangria we've had in Porto. Food is also good where they put a twist on the classics. Prop yourself by the side walk and observe the world go by around the famous bridge.

It was an outstanding meal and experience. We ordered as per Kumar Chef's suggestions and even bite was scrumptious. The Bao Bachalao , the tender Pork Shanks , the Banofi .. all items were perfect. Thankyou team and cheers .

We ended up at Taberna Rio by accident and what a very happy accident it was. The food is super good. The chef has blended portugueses flavours with international cuisine so it's not like anything I have ever tasted before. The Sangria tastes like happiness. The hosting team were attentive and fun making for excellent service. The location could not be better. Bring along something warm because its lovely outside. All the elements of a memorable evening. If you want to have a fun evening this is the place.

Great place to grab drinks in the mist of the city. Incredibly beautiful vibes and good sangrias for 5-6€ each. There’s live music everywhere with amazing views and nice staff. Highly recommend!

Generous and tasty food, good price.
The sangria jug is a bit more expensive than others, but you get a really huge one!
Friendly service. Really lovely.
