River beach Olhos de Água

Amazing spot mostly locals. There was no one on the road getting there and then we hit a large parking lot with many cars. The water was so clear and a perfect temp for such a hot day. Perfect for little kids and adults to stop for a swim or spend the day!

An amazing little park that features running trails, hiking trails, a cafe, a delightful number of birds for listening enjoyment or photography. Parking can get crowded on the weekends, but the park interior is large and sprawling with plenty of room and solitude to be found to enjoy nature. The stream has fish that swim near the bridge that are fun to watch. A beach football area exists on the right side of the stream while a children’s park is situated on the left. Plenty of table, benches, trees, and grass for picnicking or general enjoyment. There is also a museum of sorts that has the history of the aqua duct and area. Beautiful and scenic location to spend several hours.

Beautiful place, quiet (we went on a Tuesday in early September - AFTER the main vacation crush). Nice trees provide shade to picnic tables, all just a short 50 meters (or less) to the actual water. Wind in the trees complements the sound of the water.
Water was very clear and water temperature was probably 21-22°C / 70-72°. Yes, I was prepared to wade and swim and did so.
We live an hour away but will come back many more times.

Really nice lake and swimming area. There are nice picnic benches and tables around, as well as a restaurant and WC. The water in the lake is cold, but it is a nice refresher. You can bring pets here and enjoy the lovely scenery and all the nature. Make sure to visit if you have kids. They would love to go swimming.

Fantastic river beach, great place for a day out with a family. Greats spots for hiking all around as well, there is one 26 km long hiking trail!

Place is very well signaled and organised. Lots of good spots to spend an awesome day.

Brilliant day out for all the family, loads of activities and events . Cafe is nice and clean. Safe for kids and the water is great for a swim . Great in summer for a nice walk around and a ice cream play park for the kids . Plenty of seating for picnics . Highly recommend

Lovely river beach, excelente for a hole day out in the sun, water is as cold as it comes from the source.

It's a nice place to visit after some rain because of the water increase. Good place to see the museum and enjoy the cold water from inside the rocks.
