We ended up here quite randomly and it were really happy about it in the end. The restaurant looks very nice. The tables are inside the giant wine barrels. The service and the owner are incredibly friendly! The food is spectacular! We had the octopus and the steak and both were amazing! And the prices are really good too. far from being a tourist trap. Highly recommended if you’re in the area.

Very unique and beautiful restaurant. ..... The boss is very friendly. He introduce us have Douro red wine and steak on a rock. The portion is big and the steak is tasty

What a great restaurant. My friend and I ate dinner here last night and had a delicious meal, with excellent friendly service. Their bread is served warm with olive oil and it was soo good! I had the Codfish terra da Montanha, it was the best codfish I have ever had. Come hungry, the portions are good size. Bonus you get to dine in a wine barrel. So fun! Highly recommend!

And our baby was treated like a princess. They cooked her two tiny potatoes with no additional costs, because we forgot her food and everyone was really friendly.

We had an oportunity to eat in this restaurant. Amazing place all interior is related with wine, chairs made from wine barel. Food was one of the best I ever had and the portions are realy big. If you are not hungry you can take one plate and share. The owner of the restaurant is. ery helpful and polite. Recomendinv this place if you are passing Vila Real town

Delicious food, amazing welcome, and the most traditional environment. The background music was very traditional, matching the decoration of the restaurant. It is a beautiful, traditional restaurant that breathes Portugal in every detail. I loved the experience and Jaime is a delightful person always ready to give advice for the most delicious food and drinks.

Unique atmosphere, immediate seating, attentive staff & excellent food. Stone steak was grilled to a perfect medium rare. Served with vegetables & small boiled potatoes. A 7 year port & chocolate mousse was perfect for desert!

Very friendly owner and staff, food was excellent and the wine recommendations were really good. The menu and recommendations were spot on. I do not have anything else but highly recommend this place, even though it will bring more people to the place and will make it hard to visit in the future.

We had Sunday lunch here and it was excellent. We ordered a salad, olives, tibornia, bread, the duck rice and the bachalhau com broa. Both were very good. I must advise you that everyone else in the restaurant was ordering extraordinary looking steaks a flambé. We were quite early to the lunch hour and so we had not seen this but I suggest doing that. Our meals were very good but clearly the locals know something I didn't.

Delicious typical Portuguese food in a beautiful space, with great service and staff

It's a kind of place that looks much more expensive inside compared to prices in the menu. The portions are huge! I think it's impossible to leave hungry especially because all the ingredients are of a high quality and the dishes combine both elegant taste and comfy homey kind of feeling. As for me the best part was a very nice treatment we got here, staff have always made sure we liked everything. To top it off they made a vegetarian dish that wasn't on the menu and made sure I was satisfied with it. And of course the interior is special to say the least, you can dine right in the wine cask, I think that's an enough of a reason to visit this place.

The salted fish is a course made in ocean heaven. All the other dished and generous surrounding all completed a fine meal.

So good the first night went back the following night. The food is excellent. I had steak on the stone both nights, best I have had for many years. The owner/waiter is a friendly guy with a great manor about him. This is a must if you visit Vila Real. 5 plus stars

Very nice restaurant with traditional food. The portions are really big, one serve is enough for 2 people. The food is well seasoned and very tasty and the wine options are very good too. The service is friendly and fast despite the restaurant being full when we've been there. The decor is inspired and goes well with the food they serve. Definitely worth the visit.

Was a lucky find for my wife and I, food was delicious, service was warm, friendly and efficient. Couldn't fault it. Definitely recommend to anybody.

We did find an issue with the meat. They are known for very nice meat, but ours was really hard and very difficult to chew. We would like to try again.

Very cozy place with amazing decoration that really make you feel like you go back in time. The food is amazingly tasty, wine options for all tastes and price ranges. The staff is friendly and overall it was an amazing experience.
