Food was outstanding if you like pork. Service was efficient. Ambiance really nice.

Highly recommended in every single aspect from the moment you get into until you leave the permises. A big shout out to all staff, but specially to Erica for the lovely customer service as always.

Update April, 2022: Our first time back after COVID. I'm pleased to report they have upheld their high standards of food and service. Eight of us had a great Sunday lunch experience. Piglet was great; moist and flavorful meat + crispy skin. The service was attentive & fun.

From 2019: Our 2nd time at this remarkable restaurant. The idea of a Sunday lunch for 4, expanded to 20. Two whole piglets with the fixings. Fantastically great as usual. Staff also great with this mix of Brits, French, & Americans. See attached photo of our lunch guest.

I like this restaurant. The roasted pig is the best! Compared to other restaurants they are cheaper and has good quality of foods. Mostly guests are local people. If you like pork, you have to try O Caneira and don't forget the strong homemade wine at the end of your delicious meal.

great food, ambience service and staff!!! great for family and small groups!!! we had a problem with one of the dishes that we ordered but was rectified very quickly and owner apologised.

Traditional "leitão assado" (roasted piglet) and amazing crisps on the side.. Other options are available and the deserts are heaven 😌😍😋

The piglet is must have, and the small dishes are also very delicious, and nice place to go with friends and family.

The farrow is their specialty and was absolutely devine. The service was very attentive and pleasant. I thought the dessert I chose was very sugary but they offered me a ceramic piggy and a digestive drink to help. Can be expensive depending on what you decide to drink but over all will definitely visit again.

Excelent roasted pork

We went there for a Valentines Day for a meal and it was perfect. I asked for a steak in a hot stone with some fries and was awesome, you cook the meat yourself at the table. Service was 5 stars and it is really pretty inside. Will go back again for sure.

Since the place is really crowded it can be a bit overwhelming to chat and have a peacefull meal. But the food makes it bearable.

Nice restaurant with good service. Their headline menu item is the roasted pig which was absolutely perfect - I had 2 portions, and they came out quick and flawless. If you like roast pig, this place is worth the trip.

Went there for for the suckling pig, as probably most people do. It is in the middle of nowhere, you'll need a car to get there. But the food was amazing, well priced, and well worth the trip.

If you're in to piglets, this is the place to go near Lisbon's district. Huge space, top meat, excellent service, nice deserts.

I love the roast suckling pig and all the desserts! I always go to O Caneira when I'm in Portugal. Great service!
