Casa de Merocos

Lovely little wine and gourmet food shop! We stopped for an early dinner of tapas and cheese and wine and we ordered a couple of small plates off the menu as well as some fantastic local cheeses, along with wines to pair.

We had a delightful conversation with the shop owners and they made recommendations on some more regional wines we did not know about that we sampled. If you're looking for light tapas and wine in Cascais this is an excellent place to stop into!

My partner and I loved it so much we returned a second night during our weekend stay in Cascais. You can tell the couple really love to share their love and knowledge of food and wine with anyone who walks in the door. Really feels like you have been invited to a family dinner. Highly recommend.

We had a delightful time enjoying a glass of Atlantic “salt” wine the owner introduced us to. The shop is owned by a very nice couple and we enjoyed talking to them. The wife helped us in making a cheese selection which we are eating right now—delicious! Really a nice place and we would go back if we weren’t leaving for home tomorrow

Best food in Sintra and an unbelievable local wine selection, most of which can be ordered by the glass! This family run business delivered the most generous and hospitable service and really made us feel welcomed and at home. The meat and cheese selections were sensational and the family had a robust knowledge of the wines and producers of the country. This unassuming little shop is a hidden gem and a must-do!

Nice change from the super-touristy places around downtown Cascais. Excellent selection of wines, and good selection of tapas and cheese/ham boards. Family run, and it shows in the warm, attentive service. Highly recommend!

Wow what a place !! I came here for a glass of wine and some cheese . The owners treated me like a king ! Showed me everything and let me taste a lot of different things . The have a big range of wines , cheeses and high quality meat ! Highly recommended!

Wir haben auf unserer Rundreise durch Portugal eine Woche auf dem Campingplatz Guincho pausiert.

Am letzten Tag haben wir Cascais besucht und sind bevorzugt durch die weniger belebten Seitenstraßen geschlendert. Das Casa de Merocos lud zu einer Rast ein.

Wir bestellten einige Tapas, Brot, Wasser und Wein. Alles schmeckte sehr gut. Die Bedienung war freundlich und humorvoll und das Ambiente schön. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt und können das Casa de Merocos empfehlen.

Es lohnt sich die vielen kleinen Speisen zu genießen. Der Wein dort ist hervorragend.
