Mar do Inferno

The food was so fresh it was still moving!!
We had the octopus and prawn curry and the food was very fresh and delicious. The food sizes are very big - we struggled to finish.
The location is beautiful - ocean view - and the waiters are very friendly and polite.
We even had a short dessert history lesson from our waiter.
Overall an excellent experience!!

First visited in 2016 and remembered the meal so much that couldn't wait to come back! Incredible selection of fresh seafood and fish, on display that you can select. Highly recommend the fresh prawns starter was phenomenal as were the seafood rice and fresh turbot sharing platters. Waiters are excellent, orchestrated perfectly it is amazing to watch how coordinated they are during a very busy service.
The glass terrace / conservatory is enclosed with panoramic views over the sea, they can't guarantee a table but you can request it.
Highly recommend the journey if you are staying in Lisbon or nearby.

A popular restaurant outside the city center. Wonderful location right by the sea with beautiful views especially during daylight hours. The place is often full, so advance booking is recommended.

The restaurant's menu is sufficiently extensive, and especially the seafood is excellent. In particular, the fish is well-prepared and tasty.

The staff handles their tasks smoothly, even when the restaurant is completely full.

The place cannot be called cheap, but the quality more than makes up for the price. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant.

I've visited “Mar De Inferno” numerous times, and each visit leaves me more impressed than the last. This is an amazing seafood restaurant, and it truly exceeded our expectations. It's a “hidden” gem, perfect for both visitors and locals alike - although I think the secrete is out for a while. The highlight of the menu was their shared platters - fish and shrimps or the seafood Platten , which offered a delectable combination of various seafood delights (e.g local lobster, tiger prawns und mussels)

The restaurant is simple and it’s easy going , yet it had a unique character that made the dining experience stand out. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone - great and helpful waiters.

First off, great thanks to Antonio for being a very kind person and seating us on our special occasion. Without him, we wouldn’t have had a chance to try this place.

Once seated, Frederico was our waiter and he definitely left an impression and highlight on the evening. Fred was very friendly and ready to share his recommendations, which were absolutely on point. He also adjusted for special requests and made the whole evening very wholesome.

Definitely recommend this place for all your seafood needs.

Food is incredible, service is top of the top, had my best birthday meal with a surprise candle on the cake and birthday song sang by lovely waiter there. Mémorable indeed, can’t be happier and satisfied.
Pity that I was late and didn’t enjoy the view of Sunset, deliberately took train from Lisbon to enjoy this restaurant and so worthwhile. Price to me is very very reasonable, had champagne and several kinds of seafood are all very high quality and the bill was much less than expected.
I would definitely back to Lisbon just for this restaurant ❤

Outstanding shellfish and seafood! I believe this is one of the best traditional shellfish restaurants in the greater Lisbon area. The shellfish was delicious, the staff was very friendly and attentive (and can help you choose the shellfish); the location is very nice. If you go to the shellfish it’s pricier (we paid 140€ for two with starters, dessert, glass of wine) but in line with what to expect when ordering this type of plates.

Wonderful old style sea food restaurant. Family owned for decades. Fantastic giant tiger prawns and live lobster tank, the garlic rice also v good ! Ask for Pedro, acerbic and funny service !

Wonderful meal and fantastic service. Getting a sea view table was the perfect setting for an anniversary dinner. The seafood platter was terrific and full of flavor and the potatos were nicely done as well.

Was pretty full for lunch midweek so would suggest a reservation or arriving by 1pm for a walk in lunch.

We spent a few weeks around Cascais and this is the only place we ate twice. Our server Fred (Fredrico) was amazing, honest and had fabulous recommendations on wine and food.
You can hear the boom of waves crashing into the Mouth of Hell while you eat. Yes the prices are a little more upscale but if you like seafood this is a must dine while you are here. The Tiger Shrimp were our favorite but everything was really good. Our daughters devoured the lava cake for dessert while we sipped the recommended port.

Incredible experience. Went with friends and luckily got a last min outside table, what a night! We had oysters, the seafood platter with yummy lobster etc and we tried 40 year old port with desert. The service was 5 stars ⭐ and honestly they couldn’t do enough, so friendly & welcoming we had the best night. Thank you for a wonderful, memorable evening!
