Wonderful Destroyer with an interesting story behind it. It was commissioned in 1935 to be built in the UK and entered service before WW2 based in Gdynia. It managed to flee with other Polish ships to the UK in 1939 before the Germans invaded Poland and then acieved distinguished service alongside the British Navy particularly in the Norwegian area. It returned to be based Poland in 1947.
The ship is so complete you feel it could almost set sail tomorrow. You start your tour in the Museum section of the ship which gives you it's history before going into the bowels of the Destroyer and seeing the Engine Room/Boiler Room etc. Finally finish with exploring the deck. Thoroughly recommend, easily spend an hour here.

Enjoyed a short day trip here before continuing our journey by Stena Line from Gdynia Port, a fun and refreshing experience by the sea.

It's nice to see a well preserved piece of history. Well maintained, clean, looked after and well thought out.

Signs and information in both Polish and English, taking time to explain the complicated history of this WW2 destroyer that also served as the Polish navy during Warsaw pact times.

Tickets not cheap but well worth the investment and money well spent

My only gripe is I would have liked to get a model of the ship but none of the local shops stocked anything other than a cheap Chinese tat one

to be in Gdynia, which was voted the best place to live in Poland, and not to visit a great destroyer ship ORP Błyskawica would be insane, wonderful experience to have an ability to look inside and see for yourself how skilled one has to be to manage such a ship during war time and be able to destroy as many german and ruski ships as possible.

Who loves the warships will enjoy it.

You can leave your luggage in a small storage room right after you board the ship, though the guard was not checking which luggage is owned by whom.

We enjoyed the stay. We were there at the opening time. It was interesting inside. More technical rooms than the space for soldiers. You had the feel how challenging the life there was

Incredibly interesting museum. It was fascinating to go below deck to see the engine room and feel the history of this magnificent ship.

Great "Polish" naval history in one ship, what a pedigree ! This ship also protected the "Isle of Wight" in UK during WW2 and remained in service until 2012 when it was made a permanent exhibit in Gdynia.

I have visited this place for years. I love the ship. Read the history around it before visiting. This will make your visit even better. The exibition is small and nice. It is a quick visit.

Very interesting to visit destroyer but regret bridge is closed. It is however amazing to climb around, read about her history. Visit to Engine room is quite impressive, especially for the people who was not on the ship before. It is great to bring kids to share pages of history.

Never stop wandering how those are designed. 1000 km of wire, engines, pipes and indicators. Not to mention armory. That ships gun fires shot every 4 seconds......

It's a great place to visit for people interested in ships or ww2 history in general. To some of the previous reviewers, as the brass plaque commemorating the 75 years of service might be misleading to some: the ship did not remain in service until 2012 - the ship was decomissioned in 1976 and since then it has been in service as a museum ship 😁
