The Tarczyński Arena (or Stadion Wrocław to the locals) is a fantastic 40,000-seater stadium with great views from almost every seat. (If you're wondering, Tarczyński is a meat company that sponsors the stadium.)

Built for Euro 2012 – which was hosted by Poland and Ukraine – it is now home to Sląsk Wrocław of the Polish Ekstraklasa (Premier League). It also hosts the occasional Polish national team friendly – plus a Ukraine v England Euro 2024 qualifier in Sep 2023. In addition, it hosted a major boxing match in Aug 2023. Concerts and other events (such as the main beer festival) also take place there.

Located about 6 miles west of the city centre, It boasts big car parks, large walkways and good-value refreshment kiosks (selling snacks and low-alcohol beer). Two tram stops serve the Tarczyński Arena on opposite sides of the stadium, with extra trams provided for bigger games (usually Tram T1). Various buses also serve the stadium, plus a local train station. An Uber or Bolt taxi from the centre can cost as little as 25 złoty (even less with a discount) and allow you a little more time in town for drinking and eating in the rynek. (There is nowhere really to eat or drink near the stadium.)

Tickets for regular Sląsk Wrocław games are usually no more than 55zł for men and 50zł for women (yes, cheaper tickets for the ladies!). But you must buy tickets in advance and provide either a Polish PESEL number or passport number AND take that proof of ID with you to the game. (Each person must first register online on the club's ticketing website.) You can take a 0.5 litre bottle of water / soft drink into the stadium. Everyone has to present their ticket / ID and then be subject to a search by the stewards.

There are a couple of (very small) club shops outside the stadium and long queues often form there pre-match. Depending on how much time you have, it may be better to visit the main club shop near the city centre for souvenirs.

There is a large family area for home fans (Sektor Rodzinny) and you can enjoy the excellent VIP hospitality areas for as little as 300zł a match. (I've tried VIP Silver Premium and VIP Silver and they were both excellent value. VIP Silver can be bought online but VIP Silver Premium requires direct contact with the club's hospitality team.)

The ultra displays can be impressive – see my photos below! But be warned – the guy who leads the songs is completely tone deaf and sounds like a faulty foghorn. :-)

Overall, a very fan-friendly stadium.

Thumbs up for the free viewing terrace available without booking. Worth to visit even when there is no game played.

Attend Śląsk Wrocław v Legia Warszawa match in 2018 and the atmosphere was very good (from both sets of fans) and the stadium is modern, has excellent facilities and is easy to navigate. Well worth a visit just to watch the local "Ultras" in action

Beautiful stadium. Worth the visit! Atmosphere is a bit quiet to be honest, but the stadium is way to big for Slask

Slask play here so 5 star 😊 need to fix the details like tram frequency and running out of beer or snacks at half time. Other than that it's great, a touch soul less perhaps but US change that on match day. A great experience for any ground hopper.
