My friends and I recently visited Rohtas Fort and had an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment we entered, we were captivated by the historical aura that envelops this magnificent site. The fort's well-maintained structure is a testament to its rich heritage, showcasing the dedication of those preserving this treasure.

Exploring its grounds was an adventure in itself, each corner revealing another piece of history and architectural brilliance. The meticulous preservation efforts have truly paid off, as the fort stands proudly, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its grandeur.

Moreover, the ambiance during our visit was lively, filled with an infectious energy that added to the enjoyment. Whether it was walking through the corridors, admiring the intricate details, or simply taking in the panoramic views, every moment was truly memorable.

I highly recommend Rohtas Fort to anyone seeking not just a day out but an enriching journey through history. It's a testament to Pakistan's rich past and a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike.

Wow an amazing place to visit if you like history especially. We were the only tourists there, and otherwise a school class were visiting but that was it!
Easily comparable with some major historic sites around Europe/the world.

We took a day trip from Islamabad which was very manageable.
A guided tour was available in English which I’d recommend to support the local industry and guide you to some of the interesting places. There are also some signs in English for information.

We visited in the middle of the day so it was hot, bring sun hat/protection. There are a few snack stops to purchase cold drinks.

We spent 2-3 hours around the fort. We walked around, the fort is 4km in circumference. There is a buggy vehicle for those interested. It would be amazing during the sunset colours, unfortunately we left before then.

Worth mentioning a police/security guard escorts international tourists around. He was really nice, chipped in with information for the tour and kindly took photos of us. I think it is important that tourists are safe during visit, and the site is protected so this is a positive thing.

The local guide at Rohtas Fort pretty much quick marched me around the fort in about 90 minutes telling me about the history and showing where to take the best photos. Use portrait mode here, stand here take panorama or put it on 0.5 zoom. After a while he got frustrated I wasn’t taking the proper photos so he took my phone and took photos for me with varying degrees of success. Nice guy and easily the hardest working local guide around.

The experience was great. First the entry ticket is of twenty rupees. Then you have a whole new city to visit. You can see the fort from 1km away and it gives a beautiful look. And then in the range of 1 mile you have different places to visit like Rani mahal, qila mann Singh and other different historical sites. You have a lawn to rest or spend the day with your family. Other than that the beautiful scenery of the mountains is there. And the best is the zip line near the fort. Amazing experience.

A must visit place if you are in the vicinity of Jhelum / Dina. Significant portion of the fort has been renovated recently and it will take around 1.5 hours if you want a complete visit. Club car is avaialble, which can shorten the visit time. Local guides are available too. There is a tuckshop which offers tea and basic snacks. The museum is generally closed due to lack of manpower, but caretaker can get it opened for you if asked politely. The place can and must be improved further, however given the available resources, it's still in a decent shape.

Rohtas Fort is the historian Fort built by great pashtoon conquer sher shah suri. It is situated on the outskirts of jehlum. Rohtas Fort is preserved well and needs to be improved.
1. Parking facility was not much better
2. No proper washroom as usual
3. No trash bin
4. No proper restaurants

A firtres belt around 750 years back by sher shah suri to fortify its reign in the area. Later, they were taken up by Mughals, Sikhs and the British for the same reason or to look after their rule.
Usually used for an overwatch on the local tribes and to act as garrison for the soldiers defending the surrounding areas.
