Masjid Darul Islam (Takhto Jumat)

One of the historical massjid in Kumrat Valley. Best destination for tourists. Around 150 years old Dar u Islam massjid is one the main jamia massjid in Kumrat Valley. People of the entire valley come here to pray

Unique mosjid because its made of wood, amazingly beautiful and also symbol of ancient time influence of muslims in this area. Its just after the wari bazar in area of upper dir. Basically this area is a part of very wide kohistan belt region. This masjid is on the bank of panjkora river and situated on the way to Kumrat valley. Very beautiful and very charming.

On our journey towards kumrat valley, we stop at this mosque. This beautiful mosque is an artwork of cultural heritage. We stop here for some minutes and capture some photos of mosque and also made some memories here. It was originally constructed in the sixteenth century by locals. This whole structure was actually made of wood, supported by wooden struts. It was reconstructed somewhere around 1950 when a fire incident damaged the building to its core. It was reinforced with stone walls; however, the upper floor is still supported by original wooden pillars. One must offer prayers. After visiting mosque from inside we book jeep to move forward towards our final destination the majestic kumrat valley. It took almost 5 to 10 minutes to hire a jeep for next part of our tour. The wooden canal and water flow is a great view near the mosque, i personally recommend you to spend some time here then move towards kumrat valley because this view is priceless.

Masjid entirely made out of wood

Just before approaching the road toward Kumrat valley, there is a beautiful Masjid constructed at the right bank of River Pajkora on the main road, in Thall, Upper Dir.
Current wooden structure was built in 1920. And the Masjid itself is dated back to 16th century.
A small madrisa (Masjid School) is also there within the premises of Masjid to teach Quran.
One should visit it while going to Kumrat or Jaaz Banda

Thal is the gate of Kumrat Valley. On the way to Kumrat Valley, you have to stay in Thal for a while or for a night. The main Jamia Masjid on the bank of Panchkora river will attract you. The Masjid is made of Wood. The big pillars made from wood will astonish you. Going to Kumrat Valley, you have to visit this Masjid.

Good place to visit but not much developed no proper arrangements of lodging and food. It is good to visit on the way to Kumrat.
