Situated around 7km from Swabi Interchange, this charming museum offers a pleasant visit with well-maintained roads leading to its entrance. The regular ticket costs Rs 50 per person, but photography enthusiasts can opt for a Rs 500 ticket, allowing them to capture the beauty of the preserved Gandhara art and civilization within.

It is a nice little museum in Sawabi. It is around 7km from Sawabi Interchange and the road is good to take you there. There is a good parking space available. Ticket is Rs 10 per person but if you want to do photography as well then the ticket is Rs 300.
There is a very good amount of preserved Gandhara art and their civilization. Many coins of different Kings are also available.

Museum is located at the Indus River Bank. I visited on Sunday but it was open. It houses different artifacts of gandhara civilization. Alexander came here and there is an Alexander point here. There are about 2000 years plus old coins, stupas and statues of Buddha. It also has demonstration of local culture, wood work, weapons etc. There are also old manuscripts of Quran e Pak.

Its an archaeological museum housing antiquity from the site it is built on and sites around. Alexander the great camped here before crossing Indus river. It has been the site of the capital city of ancient Gandhara during Odi Shahi (generally known as Hindu Shahis). The museum represent materials from Kushanas to Mughal periods excavated here. An excavation trench is in its courtyard where structures can be seen in the sections.
A classical Corinthian pillar is placed in its courtyard to commemorate the Alexander's camp and river crossing from here.

Loved this Musuem. This is the kind Musuem of its kind with first archaeological conservation laboratory. Hund Musuem keep relics from the golden age of Gandhara till the end of Islamic Era.
There are also ethnological galleries which house artifacts of Indigenous culture and traditions.
I hope people will cherish it.
The museum is temporarily closed now for restoration work.

Hund museum has wonderful historic collection. Besides it's own enjoyment, the adjacent Hund river and river side area is a beautiful family outing area near Islamabad. Ride a horse, enjoy water and cook or order food at a local restaurant to make most of your visit. Oh yes, do not forget to take the boat tour to a nearby island. It's beautiful.
