Jinnah Stadium Gujranwala is an international Cricket stadium in the heart of Gujranwala city. Famous for its fast bouncy pitches with lush green outfield. Sachin tendulkar played his debut innings here at Jinnah cricket stadium Gujranwala. Now it is under the control of City district Government. International matches are no longer played here due to non availablity of five star hotel and airport.

7. Hosted 2 world cup matches, 1st between Eng Vs WI in 1987 World Cup and 2nd between Pak Vs UAE in 1996 World Cup.
8. Crowd Capacity is 20000.
9.Controlled by City District Government.

It's a good ground for playing games and for sports activities. This place is good for the youth and kids.

That was very awesome to play. Basically it is created for cricket and completely designed accordingly but the people of gujranwala use it for other events like religious, political etc... I would like to recommend all the people who are near the gujranwala they should must be visit there. it is very historical 👍

Historicle place wants some extra care I vesit last friday the condition was very poor like no cleaning wrappers and disposable glasses dirty round road look at these pictures background

From a long time we dont see a international cricket match there. Some of local matches are playing by locals, as well as the matches all the main events are organized there like any concert, any of political jalsa.

And if we are talking about outside of jinnah stadium we see mostly travel agents there they are just booked tickets of airlines and help out to make ready your files for visas.
Some of them writing on there boards thr Recruiting service and overseas employment services, but in actually they are just giving you the service of making file ready after visa(visa which you are getting by your self) they are not giving you job visa they are just working after visa.

I think if are getting visa by our self then after visa we dont need of them we will make ready our other documents by our self.

Jinnah Stadium is the only official stadium for international sports in Gujranwala. Recently Government gives funds for its repairing. Many schools and colleges also organise their sports day here specially in spring season. Hope so in coming days we can see international cricket in it again.

Good clean and tidy place.
Having lush grassy ground good to.play matches.
Occasionally some political parties held their big processions at here.
In the surrounding there is lot show rooms of carpet.
In Shops of Jinnah Stadium there is lot of Travel Agencies who fulfill the needs of International and domestic travelers.
At one side there is old Gujranwala officers Club now its new name is Gujranwala Gymkhana.
Management has setup new things at GymKhana like Tennis Court, Swimming Pool, Restaurant and also new things.

The Jinnah Stadium is a multipurpose stadium in Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan. It is used mostly for cricket matches. The stadium capacity is 20,000. And hosted its first and only Test match in 1991. Record-breaking Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar made his ODI cricket debut in 1989 at this ground.[4] The last ODI match played there was between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in 2000 and was the first ODI match Aleem Dar umpired.
The Jinnah Stadium is the largest stadium in Gujranwala, followed by the Mini Stadium, an association of football which has a capacity of 15,000.

The creator of this stadium is Alhaj Muhammad Aslam Butt (former mayor of Gujranwala). The stadium designed by Amjad Saleem Tahir CEO Of Aeys Associates and is located on Sialkot road. Now a days it is mostly used for sports day of school and Colleges.
This stadium hosted an ODI match in the 1996 Cricket World Cup between Pakistan and UAE.
The first Test here was played in 1985 and the last in 1995. Pakistan played its first ever ODI at home on this ground in 1976 against New Zealand. It was also New Zealand's first ODI against Pakistan. Jinnah Stadium is known for its green-top pitches that help fast bowlers. And credit of these green top pitches goes to Curator Abdul Ghani who has prepared pitches for all international matches played here (4 Tests and 9 ODIs). The stadium has a lot of memories attached with it.

In 1984, Pakistan-India ODI here was stopped midway and abandoned after news of the assassination of the then Indian PM, Indira Gandhi, reached the ground. India were batting.

During the India tour to Pakistan in 1989, the 4th test of the series played on this stadium. During the India's batting of the 2nd innings, Sachin Tendulkar was badly injured by a Waqar Younis bouncer, however, he came back later to bat and scored a key 57 runs to save the test match and a series for India.

On this stadium, Indian cricket team scored its lowest team total of 79 in its ODI history against Pakistan on 1978/79 tour. The stadium has hosted 9 one day internationals and 4 test matches.

In September 2019, the Pakistan Cricket Board named it as one of the venues to host matches in the 2019–20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

Jinnah Stadium Gujranwala is of historical importance. It is called the International Cricket Stadium. Many national, international test and one-day cricket matches have been played here. Now though international cricket is not happening here. But region level cricket matches are held here. Apart from this, it has also been used for political activities, former Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, former President of Pakistan General Zia ul Haq Shaheed, former Prime Minister Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, former President General R Pervez Musharraf, former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. And former Prime Minister Imran Khan has held political rallies here.
