Mahatao Boat Shelter Port

nice place for photos, place makes you feel like you're not in the Philippines as it looks like a place in Europe

We had a leisurely walk along the port and had fun taking photos . The water was so clear you can actually see the bottom of the seaport bed. Small fishing boats come and go. It's fascinating to watch them park like cars. Our guide said this place was turned into a temporary quarantine facility during the lockdown. This place is part of the South Batan Tour.

Batanes is frequently visited by typhoons and it incurs a a lot of damages to the island.

Fishing is one of the livelihoods of the Ivatans. Thus, this boat shelter provides protection to their fishing boats.

The area is well maintained as seen from the crystal clear waters.

A boat shelter right beside the lighthouse. Might as well check it out if your in the area. Nice backdrop for photos. It reminds me of the boat shelters in Italy particularly those in Cinque Terre
