My second time here in Batanes and still opted to stay here at Fundacion. A lovely and memorable place to be. This time we booked 2 rooms and one is a room in the attic. Both have terraces. The garden is still beautiful and well maintained. Internet is still weak - not only here but the whole island. Im glad that they already added lamps on the pathway to the rooms.
The sad part is that the gallery has been closed for some time now. They said it got damaged during the last typhoon that hit Batanes and is yet to be restored. They have a scheduled shuttle to and from the town which can be arranged at their office. You can also arrange a massage with the local "hilot" with them.
If you plan to stay here make sure to make reservations months before going. They only have a limited number of rooms.

Went here with my wife on Nov 2015, 8 years ago... if you want to experience luxury in Batanes, this is the right place. I must say, first the service, it was indeed splendid. I made request for a surprise dinner in our room and they delivered, we stayed in the room where President Noy Aguino stayed it has a balcony and a good view of the pacific ocean. 2nd the Food, marvelous!!! Anyone visiting their place must try the Tukon Burger! 3rd the place is an art, Pacita Abad was an artist, sister of Butch Abad (former Budget Secretary of Pres. Noy) Pacita painted the Famous Alkaff bridge in Singapore (Colorful Bridge) the place is a liviing museum. Overall our trip in Batanes is Astounding!!!

An IG worthy place with top of the class food. It is pricey but you will get the price you paid for. A classy fine dining place The pan grilled pork is just one of the best I've tasted in this lifetime🙂. It's worth the price. We just walked in the restaurant and we immediately love the view. The hotel is also pricey and was not allowed to enter the hotel area since we are not booked there which is nice for the guest will have the privacy they deserve.

BATANES ... See you soonest!
Cheers to these TWO who let me Do what I Do 🤭😅

In a land of dreams, where waves embrace the shore,
Where nature's wonders leave us wanting more,
There lies a gem, a paradise unknown,
Familia Ballestar, where our hearts have grown.

Batanes, a hidden treasure in the sea,
A destination where our spirits longed to be,
With savings in hand, we took a leap so bold,
An adventure we never thought we could hold.

Oh, Fundación Pacita, your hospitality so grand,
Like a guiding light, you took us by the hand,
With open arms, you welcomed us to this land,
A haven of tranquility, where memories expand.

We set foot on this enchanted soil,
Where time stands still, where worries coil,
In the embrace of nature's bountiful grace,
We found solace, we found our sacred space.

The rugged cliffs, majestic and proud,
Stand tall against the elements, unbowed,
They whisper tales of resilience and might,
A testament to the spirit's endless flight.

Oh, the landscapes, a painter's dream,
With rolling hills and fields agleam,
The vibrant hues, a symphony of delight,
A palette of wonder, an artist's purest light.

Through winding paths, we roamed hand in hand,
Exploring every corner, a magical wonderland,
From idyllic beaches to ancient stone houses,
Batanes unfolded its beauty, like delicate roses.

And in the midst of this breathtaking scene,
The warmth of the people, so kind and serene,
Their genuine smiles, their hearts open wide,
Made us feel like family, filled us with pride.

Thank you, Fundación Pacita, for your embrace,
For creating a haven, a sacred space,
Where dreams come alive, where love is found,
Familia Ballestar, forever etched in our hearts, profound.

This adventure, worth every penny we saved,
A journey of a lifetime, our spirits engraved,
Batanes, a travel destination so divine,
We will cherish this memory, till the end of time.

Oh, Familia Ballestar, you've touched our souls,
A testament to the beauty that life beholds,
With gratitude in our hearts, we bid adieu,
But your essence, your magic, will forever imbue.

Wonderful place to stay, secluded on top of a hill with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and West Philippine Sea, and sunrise and sunset too.

The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the restaurant has a great menu with dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. Definitely recommend staying here if you're planning to visit Batanes!

Best place to stay in Batanes. All rooms are different. I stayed at “Itaw” which has a lovely terrace/garden with amazing views. Lovely staff and great food. Also joined one of their hiking trip. Highly recommended.

A must for all visitors to see. Establishment is still personally overseen by the family of Pacita Abad. And the 360⁰ view is breathtaking. Accommodations are first class. Fine dining and casual dining. Service staff are very well trained.

Worth the money for very special or intimate occasions. Keep in mind it's a lavish and artistic place thou very very expensive. But it's still something to look forward to even just for the whole day of accomodations they offer since you rent the whole floor or house.

Waking up to the blissful sunrise and being greeted by a chilling sea breeze while having a cup of coffee or chocolate wouldn't that be nice and sharing it with your family or special someone.

My stay at Fundación Pacita is definitely one of the most memorable so far. Spectacular view of Batanes rolling hills and the rugged coastline, world class accommodation and guest services. The food was delicious and I looked forward to ordering what’s on the menu each time we had breakfast or dinner; I also appreciated the special meal served for the holidays.

This is perhaps the most expensive and upscale hotel and restaurant in the whole of Batanes. And for good reason - the views around here are simply the best and most complete, and the comfort and ambiance is unmatched. It speaks of both simplicity and luxury. The kitchen is for professional food connoisseurs, though the dining experience is rather affordable. Room rates go from 12,000 to 26,000 pesos a night, according to my source. A little pricey, but perfect for occasions like honeymoons. While waiting for your food to be prepared, you can also explore the gardens and the Pacita Abad museum, which is filled with pieces of the life's works of the famous artist herself. Feeling adventurous? Check out the 360 steps to the beach below. You have to be physically fit, though - the return climbs can be a daunting challenge, especially at lunchtime.

What an absolute honour and privilege it was to stay here!? I understand why this place gets booked out almost half a year in advance. It is breathtaking and stunning. I could not imagine staying anywhere else. The room itself was fantastic. From the sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and the rolling hills, to the little touches that made this a home away from home. We loved our stay here and made sure we spent a full day really soaking in the views the room had to offer. The service we received was of such a high standard. Friendly, helpful staff especially at Cafe du Tukon. I look forward to recommending Fundacion Pacita to my family and friends and look forward to staying here again in the future.

If you're looking for a place to unwind and relax, then this is it! The staff are very well mannered. Place is very clean and kept that way at all times. The view is breathtaking. However, it might get a little boring for some children especially those who are used to the fast paced life - complete with extremely fast wifi as there is 0 reception and wifi in this location. Perfect for honeymooners and those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

I didn't actually stay in overnight. My sister and his husband rented the rooms for their wedding and our family just toured around the place. The view at the porch is beautiful! You got to see the lovely sunset at the horizon. Rolling hills... Light tower... The place itself is away from the restaurant and receiving area.

For an interior designer like me, I appreciated all the details that went into the design of the room, cafe, gallery and common areas. Even if the rooms don't come with wifi and TV, the brand of the toilet was Duravit. Who needs TV when you have a breathtaking view just outside your window! I do have some recommendations to make the room more comfortable: clearance space, location of outlets and make them universal outlets, height of hanger rods, allow curtains to fully draw all the way to the sides with black out option, plus put a safe in the rooms since most of Batanes requires cash payments.

The cafe was excellent with a wide range of items on their menu from traditional Ivatan dishes to worldly flavors and comfort food. The servers and utensils were good quality and the design of the cafe was whimsical and inspiring!

The service was exceptional too! Special mention to the time my husband asked for an extra pillow and the staff brought one inside a basket for my husband to remove for sanitary purposes.

The free shuttle service makes it very convenient also to go down to town and back up to the hotel. I HIGHLY recommend Fundacion Pacita to everyone!

The restaurant is really worth visiting and the price is very affordable considering the view and taste! Most of the ingredients are actually grown (even meats...!) in their farms, you'll feel the freshness of the dishes... even feta cheese felt like home-made /o/

Picturesque! The view from the place is really a sight to behold. They serve gourmet food in the middle of nowhere! Owned by the famous artist, Pacita Abad, the interior of the place displays her artful spirit. Check out the Gallery by going down a colorful spiral staircase. Thank you for this chance to be in harmony with art and nature. Love it!

A perfect location. Please advice Fundacion do not offer any wifi or TV. I stayed there for a week and did not miss them. The view is breathtaking along with great Cafe. Their breakfast 'corn beef' and for dinner 'beef short ribs' are highly recommended.

It was indeed a nice experience staying at Fundacion Pacita. The view is breathtaking and the service of the staff is superb. The only problem is that it is far from the city wherein you can easily buy basic necessities. I think putting up a convenience store nearby could help. For experience, it is good to stay there for two days then move to the city for the remaining days of the vacation.

I was worried about the green painted walls of the only room that was available when I booked. Turned out the website photos did not do justice to the actual colour harmony so that was quite a relief, and honestly a very welcome surprise. The pocket gardens and secret sitting areas, water features, and the very well tended plants were a feast for the senses.
The Cafe was very accommodating with requests for swaps (greens instead of rice) and the staff very kind. I just think the cashier person could use a bit more customer service training by getting up from her chair when answering a question or attending to a guest up front. She seemed too busy with her work (which might be better done at the back of the house if that were the case.) Even with that bit of a hiccup, I would give the restaurant a high rating. I tried as much of the Ivatan dishes and loved everything! I did have to order luñis to take away and that calamansi pie.
Housekeeping: they should check back to see if the guests have taken down the DND sign during the day. We slept in a bit as our tour was scheduled in the afternoon. When we returned at night it was just the way we left it. Even so, the quick apology and the swift arrival of the cleaning team redeemed that situation.
Overall, we loved the place and have already booked our way back next year.
