A few kilometers from the town proper of Columbio in the province of Sultan Kudarat lies a distinct mountain ridges. Its called La Palmera, surrounded by hundreds of Palm Trees (hence the name La Palmera). Locals main income came from harvesting the fruits of the these oil palm.
From Columbio Fire Station, you can hire a "habal" (motorcycle) for P250 roundtrip, plus an entrance of P100 upon arriving at the registration center. Your driver will also serve as your photographer and guide. So be generous enough to tip them.

What a beautiful creation by The Creator. The trail is easy to find as the path is very obvious. High grass on both sides so better wear arm sleeves. Put on sunblock for protection from the sun. Bring your own water but do not leave your trash behind. Fresh air is good for the health.
You can reach this place by habal- habal or by a 4x4 vehicle. It is worth paying a visit.

A great place to be, you'll feel the nature with you. Very peaceful place . Entrance fee is affordable , only 50 pesos. Rough road on the way. We choose to pass the road via Matanao going to Columbio where La palmera is located. We also pass 2 river , I guess it is not recommended to pass this route when it is raining .

Short hike for a magnificent view. The road maybe challenging but atleast we’re not walking. Highly recommended.

Staff and owner: Super friendly. It'll be bumpy before you could travel to this place. If you plan on bringing a car, bring a pick-up or 4x4, you need to cross a river before you get here. I suggest taking the route via Tacurong because you'll only have to cross 1 river instead of 2 if you'll use the road via barrio 5.
It's worth the price and hurdles. You'll surely enjoy the overall view and peace this place brings you. Don't forget to greet the tribes when you pass.
They have overnight cabins from 1k php to 1.5k php.

If you plan on taking up the SOCCSKARGEN tour, this should be your last spot before heading to any city (ex. Davao, Gen San, etc.). This is a good place to slow things down, enjoy nature and the quietness of the world, and be at peace. I'd recommend staying overnight and booking the larger room (it's worth it, I promise).
Notes:
- food is kinda pricey. The native chicken adobo that we had was 780 (as of writing), and 1 KG of mangoes was about 200.
- be prepared for a bumpy ride. The way going to La Palmera from Columbio proper is 90% rough road with big rocks.
- make sure to have enough storage on your phones, because once you're there, I guarantee that you won't stop taking photos.

Breath taking view. View-tiful indeed. The lush green color you'll see from palms on the road to the mountain ridges are just so relaxing to the eyes that it's worth the hours of travelling and a little bit of bumpy roads. It took us 2 and a half hours travel time from Davao up to this beautiful place. We took the Matan-ao route going to colombio and crossed 2 rivers! The first river is manageable for a first timer driver to drove off the road. But for the second river which is just a few kilometers from La Palmera, we decided to take the habal habal - a local term for motorcycle for hire. 4x4 vehicles will be your best choice if you take the Matan-ao route going to Colombio (where La Palmera is located) just ask the locals for directions as some areas are out of signal. And please, always bring your trash with you. Let's not destroy the beauty of God's creation by throwing our garbages anywhere.

It was a 2 hour drive from Gensan but well worth the long drive. The scenery is like being in a fantasy environment. The view is amazing and you feel a sense of freedom. I'll surely be back here.

The 4 hours drive from General Santos City (due to rough roads), was worth it. This was one of my travels that I will never forget.
Cars can go up high but only the brave ones can pass tbrough the rocky, uneven roads through the ridge. 4x4 is highly advisable.
Small cars like sedan and hatchback can leave their cars at the Brgy Hall and take Habal Habal for 50 pesos one way. It will take you the ridge itself.
Blaans, the tribes that oversee and protect the natural wonders, are really courteous and very welcoming. They greeted us with full smiles as we were the only guests that time. Just me and my friend. What a treat right?😊
We shouted at the ridges releasing our frustrations and hoping that we can bounce back from life's battle. Aysesss. 😅
Truly, an experience to have. Book it now! Now na! Char! 😅

I'am so Amaze to witness this kind of God-created scenery, all you have to say is "Wow" just wow. Since the road and location may seem a little bit difficult and far but when you've reach the ridges, all the suffering will surely gone away for its beauty. Great to be there. 👏
P.s. God can create great things in every places, how much more in our different lives. Have a good day 😇

Perfekt place for relaxation...
You don't worry about the foods because there so many carendiria at the peak. You better visit the place early as possible. Like 6am to 7am. To avoid crowd of people.
