Wow what a stunning location for a wedding reception! I have never seen anywhere with such a view of the sun setting over the lake. The grand entrance and grounds just stunning.

Love this home's location overlooking a river. The history of the President of the Philippines, Marcos Sr. and seeing their lavish lifestyle. No shoes here though. Probably all in a museum. Highly recommend this visit!

The place is well maintained. There was an event when we came there I think a wedding reception. The view was so nice. You just need to pay 70 pesos I think as you enter.

View is spectacular although when one goes inside besides the interior and the house being well maintained i did not see anything very historic about it. It doesn't seem to have a story anymore. It's just like entering an abandoned house alyhough unlike the movies it is free from cobwebs and dusts.

The former residence of President Ferdinand Marcos which is now a museum under the management of the Philippine government, it seems that the museum is also rented out to the general public to hold events such as weddings.

When in Ilocos Norte, try to visit Malacañang of the North. It is so relaxing to sit by the lake or take pictures of the palace or Chinese Garden.

Good to visit. Entrance at 10 pesos. Old mansion with a shadow of its former glory. While the name says it's Malacañang, don't come expecting a Palace. Feels more like a historical shrine. It has the full body portraits of former President Marcos and his First Lady in their youth. There are no tour guides to explain the history but you can walk freely around the mansion.

Upon entering, you can find a most surreal view of the ocean from the veranda. There's also a spiral staircase where you can get a good photo if you manage to wait for the traffic to be on their way.

The second floor has antique furniture and pretty chandeliers. The paintings are classic and elegant, and the old pictures all have their stories to tell.

If you like taking pictures in classic houses with the outstanding windows and wide spaces, come and see it. It's a quick viewing for a taste of serenity you can dream about if you had such a mansion.

AVOID EATING OUTSIDE THE MALACAÑANG PALACE (esp the one opposite the entrance gate)

The staffs are unfriendly almost rude.
The food is expensive, not tasty at all
The place is dirty with lots of flies

Malacañang of the North is a great place to visit. The place takes you through the past of the Marcos Family.

The Malacañang of the North (or Malacañang ti Amianan in the Ilocano dialect) is a national park and museum in Paoay, Ilocos Norte province. One of the province's tourist attractions. It's amazing that the place is still well preserved. I went there with guided tour and it was one of the tour's itinerary so I didn't have a problem commuting there. It was a holiday when I went so I think there were more tourists. The Malacañang of the North is open Tuesdays to Sundays between 9 AM and 4:30 PM. The entrance fee is Php10.00

It's nice to visit the Malacanang of the north where the previous President Marcos used to stay when in Ilocos. They have preserved it nicely and maintained the vicinity for people to see when visiting Ilocos Norte. I enjoyed my tour inside the house, the balcony is the best feature since it's facing the lake,a very serene spot to look after the end of work and relax.

If you are visiting Ilocos norte, add this to your itinerary.

Malacañang of the North is Old but Gold.

I would recommend if you go early in the morning to avoid the crowd specially on weekends or public holidays.

This place is highly recommended.

With an entrance of Php 30.00. You can see and take a selfie with this old ancestral mansioned and should be thankful for preserving it. It us an educational and historical museum. Proof is your picture memorabilia including the old furniture, the old PX Goods, family photographs and more. The view of Paoay Lake is surrounded by fresh green grass. It is so much to be proud off because of its historical story.

A wonderful opportunity to visit an outstanding building constructed using traditional pinoy materials and techniques. A national treasure that is a must to visit and to learn about Philippine history. Well worth the long journey to drive to this remarkable historic building.

I've visited this house many times before. The fee to visit is minimal. It's a place to visit when and if in Northen Luzon in the Ilocos Norte.

It's bigger in the inside than the outside. The entrance fee isn't pricey and it's worth it if you stay long. A good history of former President Marcos of PH. A lot of pictures to be taken. You can spend like 1+ hrs in this place. Go early, parking might get filled up easily.
