My GF and I spent two days here in November 2021 and it was an amazing experience. We stayed at the Pink Room, a small AC room near the entrance of the resort that had a queen-sized bed and a futon. The bathroom was outside which meant you had to get out of the room if you wanted to shower or use the toilet. Our vacation was during the week and there were no other guests in the sprawling resort but ourselves. We used only the main pool, which was 5 feet at the deepest. We swam at night, and the staff graciously turned on the pool lights even if the two of us were the only guests at the resort at the time.

Food

Café sold cup noodles, chips, coffee, soda, water and liquor. There's an eatery at the junction to the main road that sold rice meals but we were told they only open on weekends.

From the resort entrance, if you turn right at the main road you'll find sari-sari stores along the way. The first store sold bread, fresh meat, fruits and vegetables, which is nice if you brought a stove with you. There is a water refilling store nearby.

Turn left at the main road and there's a restaurant that sells silog and sizzling meals around 5 mins' walk away if you want a rice meal. It was open when we came there at around 9 AM. The owner said they were open until night, but they were closed when we went there at around 5 PM for dinner.

Commute to the Resort

We took a Monumento-Angat bus, then a tricycle to the Angat proper. There were jeepneys at the terminal behind the Public Market going to DRT, apparently uncommon these days but there happened to be one when we got there. The jeepney will drop you off at Brgy Camachile, at the tricycle terminal in front of DRT Public Market. Jeepney fare is 35 pesos each.

The tricycle drivers told us their fare was 120 pesos for a one-way special trip going to the resort. The resort is a dead spot for telcos and no other public transportation is available, so you'll have to tell your driver when you're checking out so they can take you back. Fare is still P120 but our driver offered to take us all the way to Angat Public Market for P300. Rather than risk having no jeepneys in Camachile to take us to Angat, we agreed.

Some Thoughts

The best way to get there is by private transportation. The roads are very car-friendly. However, the resort's location easily lends itself to a dozen other side trips to waterfalls, hidden camping grounds, overlooks and enduro trails so you won't regret going on a motorcycle either.

Rice meals are hard to find in the resort especially if you don't have your own vehicle. Prices at the café and the nearby sari-sari stores are very reasonable but choices are limited. So stock up before leaving Angat, or at least when you get off at Camachile.

The place is secluded and while there are cameras in the public areas, we didn't see any guards. The closest police station is 15 minutes away at Camachile, but since the place has very little cell signal there's no way to call them anyway. This meant we were occasionally looking over our shoulders at the shadows beyond the pool's lights whenever we heard a noise. But then again it could also be just the cats and dogs from the area. They're friendly.

The resort is huge, surrounded by trees and nestled in the mountains, ideal for family activities or personal retreats. Air is fresh, relaxing and cool. The pool is probably heated because the water wasn't cold even in the chill mountain air. However, that's all there is to do in the resort. There are no ziplines, no ATV rides, no horseback riding. But then all my girl and I really wanted was to spend time with each other and this hidden gem in the Sierra Madre more than served us a good deal.

Hopefully Mountainview Resort survives the pandemic. Will definitely come back.

If you are on hunt of silent, less crowded and nature abundance place to stay...
Make this place your station n survey DRT trails, camp site n view decks...
Did i say reasonable price n courteous staff.

This is the right location of the Mountainview Resort.

Sitio Buasao, Brgy. Sapang Bulak, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan

Do not proceed to the other location (Doña Remedios Trinidad Highway, San Rafael, Bulacan) it is misleading.
