Maasin City Forest Park

Maasin Zoo is one of the attractions you can visit in Southern Leyte. Located on top of the mountain..a lot of animals..like lion, camel, deer, monkey, crocodile, snake and variety of birds..

Located at the topmost part of Maasin City where you can have a nice look of the landscapes below in it. Its a long travel up but its worth it. You will feel fresh air, the peaceful environment will give you peace of mind. Recommended to nature-lovers and animal enthusiats (Maasin Zoo). Lots of trees can be found, also well maintained and the roads going there were wide and smooth. Cottages can also be found for hikers who wanted to take some rest. There also can be found a campsite of the Boys Scouts of the Philippines. An oval and stage. I loved the peacefulness and silence of this place.

Plenty of things you can do here. If you need some place to recharged, camping, picnic, need some fresh air, motorcycling, biking, hiking, shooting a music video for your multimedia project or anything you want to do, this is a perfect place for you.

It's more memorable experience because this is situated at the forest park (Maasin City Zoo) of Maasin City which is located 500 meters above sea level This is favorable to raised for exotic animal and animals because it's climatic conditions.
I advise to all tourists especially to all loving animal to go in this place. This is located at the mountain barangay of Maasin City, that is the Malapoc Norte. From there, you will see the overlooking Maasin City, Matalom Leyte and the mountain place of Maasin City and Matalom, Leyte.

For those who love nature trekking but do not have much time to wander far from the city, Maasin City Forest Park might be for you. Situated at Sitio Danao, Malapoc Norte, the park centers around Mian’s Peak, has a man-made lake and well, a lot of trees. You can have a picnic by the lake, climb the peak, or take a stroll around.How to get there:If you have your own car, go to Tuburan and drive up for about 20 minutes until you get to the Park — no kidding, it’s that easy to find. If you somehow manage to get lost, there are villages near the place, so you can ask around.You can also opt to hire a habal-habal (single motorcycle) for about P50 per head at Tuburan to get you to the park. The park is located in Malapoc Norte, Maasin City. Not only the park located their but also Maasin City Zoo. You can negotiate with the driver for the pickup time. Warning: most habal-habal drivers do not usually offer helmets, so hire at your own risk.Recommendations:This place is OK for picnics, dates, and communing with nature.

Loved the zoo and the amazing views from the Damien's Peak trail.

Its a very big area and it has lots of potentials to become better distination place in Maasin City.
