The place is great, serene its an advantage that there is a guide that would discuss the history and other information about the cave. The entrance is also affordable. Its compose of 7 chambers but only 5 chamber was open. The cave is also not hard to enter unlike the other caves

The Callao Cave network is a popular tourist attraction about 45 minutes away from Tuguegarao. It's a nice place to visit which both kids and physically fit seniors can visit. You'll need to climb about 184 steps and the interior of the cave can be muddy and slippery so sneakers with excellent wet grip is recommended.

A great marvel of nature. The ascent can be a bit daunting for those who are not fit, but when you finally scale the 187 steps to to cave entrance, it's all worth it! The tours are well organized and fairly reasonable. 🙂

Every group is assigned and required to have a tour guide when accessing the caves. Entrance is 100 pesos and 50 pesos for students, which is relatively cheap.
The tour guides are also trained to take pictures. Our guide asked me to give him my phone and he had it with him throughout the whole trip. He was the one who took most of the pictures. His shots were amazing, too!
Unfortunately, we went there during la niña (rainy season), so we weren’t able to go to the river and the islands because the water was high and the wind was strong.
1. We first went up 184 steps to get to the cave’s entrance. There are resting benches in between so you can rest if you get tired.
2. You will feel it when you reach the cave’s entrance. It begins to feel cool.
3. Watch your steps. Please watch kids or elderly, the cave’s damp inside and the floors are muddy and slippery, it’s hard to go up. I can’t count how much I slipped 😆Nevertheless, the inside is beautiful! I suggest you bring extra shoes, wear shoes you don’t mind being dirty, or bring slippers/flipflops.
There are 7 sections of the cave, 5 of them are accessible. You won’t really feel that you’re going up or down so I didn’t know which part we were but you can ask your guides. There were no maps inside the caves.
We tipped our guide handsomely since he deserved it. You are not required to give them money but I suggest you do. They are volunteers and only guide once a day since they all take turns in guiding.
Overall, the trip was informative and really fun!

Entrance is 100 per head only. You need to finish 184 steps to see the 5 chambers. The place is really good.

In the ebb and flow of marriage's dance,
Through highs and lows,
in every circumstance,
In the depths of night,
when shadows swath,
It's you, my dearest,
who lights the path.
Your presence,
a fortress through the darkest night,
Guiding my soul with your unwavering light,
In the midst of trials,
you're my steady mast,It's you, my dearest, who lights the path.
Together we weather every storm that blows,
In the labyrinth of life,
where no one knows,
Through joy and sorrow,
in the aftermath,It's you, my dearest,
who lights the path.
So in this journey,
hand in hand we'll roam,
Through the highs and lows,
we'll find our home,
For in the depths of darkness,
in each embraces aftermath,
It's you, my dearest,
who lights the path.
our very own DANTEDI in the coming days ahead as always.

A must-see destination in Tuguegarao! Personally, for me it's a great location to propose to a loved one under that natural light on the altar! ❤ I have seen the place only in a movie and it's surreal to be standing right in the middle of the makeshift chapel.. solemn and peaceful. There's part of the cave that's airy and cool, and it's nice! It's very clean when we went there and very well-maintained. The tour guides were nice and polite esp. Bryan. He was eager to give us every details of the caves' structures and what it symbolizes. He was very particular about the preservation of the cave so he was occasionally giving instructions to other local tourists not to touch the walls and to avoid vandalism. I just hope the people of Cagayan together with the visiting tourists joins effort and cooperate in the preservation of this unique wonder of nature.

One of the best cave in the Philippines. Underneath had a small chapel, very solemn, you can celebrate weddings, they celebrate Mass also. Its a must visit. We highly recommend this awesome creation.

This is the best tourist spot ive seen in cagayan.tho in going there its lacking in road signs so were always looking for a person to ask the direction...184 steps but not too much when you go up higher under the cave its still nice. bring flashlight and nice camera our pics not so nice inside coz we only use smartphone...toilet not clean tho..to think they ask for an entrance fee.. u need a tour guide to bring you there. just pay whatever they deserved...

Amazing location up a steep flight of 100 steps. Not too many tourists. Helpful guides. Easy to find. Important scientific discovery with perhaps more to come.

This tourist destination site is worth the visit as it plays a part in Philippine history, as the place where the famous Callao Man was discovered. Before the tour, a guide will give a brief history of Cagayan and the cave itself, then orient the visitors of the do's and dont's while inside the cave. There are 184 steps to conquer before you can enter the 1st chamber, so bring water (and your maintenance meds for asthma if you are asthmatic) since the climb is very tiring. The tour guide will lead you to the different chambers and explain some of the significant rock formations found inside the cave. A chapel is found at the center chamber for meditation and worship.
When visiting the cave, it is helpful to also bring a flashlight, as other parts of the cave are very dark. Wear comfortable shoes (rubber shoes preferable) and have a buddy system so that you will not trip or slip while walking. Picture taking is allowed, and the tour guide willingly takes them for you.
