Ticao Island Resort

We took the 3 nights 6 dives package, hoping to see the manta rays. Other then seeing majestic manta rays on both of our dives in the "Manta Bowl", the other dives at North Ticao were just like jumping into a human sized pristine aquarium filled with many kinds of nudibranches, seahorses and we even spotted a frogfish! The corals were like we had never seen before, looking healthy and colorful. We also seen baby sharks during a surface interval snorkeling session. 10/10 truly!!

Other than the dives just being spectacular, the whole resort crew was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was overall great (more veggies would be appreciated, but hé, veggies just don't really seem to belong to the philippino diet, it seems), especially the UBE ICE-CREAM OMG, my all-time favorite!
The cabana was huge and nice and cool, with hot shower and flushing toilet. Big comfortable bed.

The location is quite remote which makes exploring outside the resort a bit difficult, but that's allright.

If you are looking for a peaceful place to vacation look no further excellent staff friendly and very accommodating I was there for 2 weeks and have nothing but great things to say the cabanas are very clean but modest could use a mini fridge though but if you ask they happily will store your drinks in there cooler so not a major problem would definitely recommend to anyone without a doubt 😀

The cottage is clean and cozy, I even woke up in midnight due to the aircon is too cold!
Though I didn’t see manta ray this time, I’ll definitely back for another dives!

We had a memorable time in Ticao Island resort. We stayed in the budget room. The room is comfortable and good value for money. Separate bathroom is big and very clean. Food is very good with big servings. Staff is very welcoming, friendly and accomodating. You can snorkel and kayak in a beautiful environment.

We highly recommend this resort.
FYI, if you want to dive in Manta bowl, it is best to come from ticao resort than from Donsol. When we arrived, it was raining a lot but they came with umbrellas to us directly and then they just kept taking care of us all trip. We originally planned staying overnight and 3 dives but we kept extending for 4 days and 9 dives each. We really had a great time diving even though we didn't see the mantas or whale sharks. Schools of jacks and tuna were amazing though! Very fun doing current diving, the food of the resort was great, amazing service 10/10. We hope to be back🙏 -cheers from Anders and Mari

Very affordable budget rooms (600/night), a bit hard to get to the place though so I suggest you take a van if you’re in a group and you have lots of things. Otherwise, a motorcycle would be fine. Highly recommend the homemade ice cream :) They offer free kayaking as well. Massages were good also and they can sort island hopping/diving activities for you.

Off the beaten path but very quiet and relaxing. Amazing and friendly staff that go out of their way to make sure your stay is absolutely welcoming. They have kayaking, scuba diving, horse back riding, massage and delicious meals for very reasonable prices... I will be returning!!! Thanks to all the staff for an amazing stay!!!

Lovely resort with beachfront cabanas facing a serene shoreline. Our room was great, staff was welcoming, and the food was amazing.

The resort can help you arrange boat transfers, as well as tours.

This is a great resort. You can call the resort and arrange transfers to get you to the resort with no problem. The great staff welcomes you with a cold drink and a run down of the resort and meal times. The bungalow we stayed in was very clean and right on the beach which was cleaned daily. The food was great and the drinks were cold. Island hopping tour was great. The one tour not to miss is the firefly tour. Get paddled out by locals in your individual boat and witness fireflies in their natural habitat. Make sure you take a camera for both tours. You can snorkel and dive on the island hopping tour. This resort was one of our highlights of our two month trip in the Philippines!!

A perfect location to regenerate in nature... excellent food and excellent staff...

Yes, yes, yes, this place was excellent. Even better than I imagined! It was the perfect place to propose to my now finacé. We felt welcomed from the second we got off the boat. Hotel staff was great and welcoming. Our dive master Elvin was friendly and professional and helped with the plans for perfect place to propose while diving and helped film it.
The resort itself is secluded on the remote Ticao Island, which is just what I was looking for, a romantic getaway. The food was great all 6 days, a strong buffet most nights for dinner if there were other guests at the hotel and a packed lunched on diving days always left me satisfied (breakfast was phenomenal as well, with several options to choose from, made to order). I paid them a bit extra to help organize the transfer from Legazpi airport so that getting there was very easy despite the remoteness. Don't forget to see the whale sharks in Donsol before or after visiting Ticao Island Resort.
The main reason we went was to dive and see mantas and we saw them each day. You go to spot them at a cleaning station, so you cannot be guaranteed to get close on every dive but we saw plenty of them, on three different dives a manta swam directly over me within 3 meters. Just amazing.

Quiet and tranquil, this somewhat isolated resort is the perfect getaway. It's also a great jump off point for some island hopping, snorkeling and diving.

The food was mostly simple fare but everything was delicious. The buffet may not be too varied but it was more than sufficient.

The staff is friendly and well-trained, and exceptional in every regard. Most of them are fairly fluent in English too.

The cabanas are quite large and well maintained. There is no TV, but you wouldn't much need it. There is no internet in the cabanas and mobile data is intermittent at best so if you must, make sure to download your shows prior to your stay. As a last resort, they do have wifi at the restaurant.

Pro tip, go firefly watching at night. It's quite magical.

Fantastic location. Friendly people in resort and local village. Plenty activities to do, appart from good diving sites you can enjoy kayaking, horse riding, fireflies - amazing natural "night show" or daytrips to number of locations. We have enjoyed our stay greatly.

We got to dive with LAMAVE and saw manta ray and whale sharks!
JohnJohn is a great dive master and is extremely patience. The food in the resort is good and this resort is near to manta bowl and San miguel.
It's the best location for adventurous drivers.
Getting to this island is however a little tiring but it is all worth it !

I haven't actually stayed here but I ate dinner at their resto bar. The place is quite cozy. If you want tranquility and a disconnect from urban life, this is a good place to just relax. Food is good too (but must be preordered). For island hopping, it is better to walk a few yards east to the local community and hire a boatman to take you island hopping (Php 1500-2500). This resort's rate can go as high as Php 8000!

Didn't stay here, only went to ask for room prices and dive trip. Seems to be well organized and very professional. Generally a bit more expensive compared to other dive shops on the Philippines , however at the moment the only available at the island and I believe it's worth to pay. Even organize trips from Densol. If not fully booked you can get a cheaper room for around 1800 pesos, no AC.

We had an absolutely amazing weekend, breath taking views, horse riding, diving..the staff were very friendly and food was delicious..we will definitely be returning

Perfect easy peaceful place like a paradise. If need totally peace and good service I recommend this place. Special if like diving!
