Mount Canlaon

Amazing mountain. Highest in Visayas.

Spent half an hour finding what mountain we saw during our flight to Bohol... it was hard to miss it was the biggest mountain visible in the area. Here is a photo from Cebu Pacific Flight 5J615

Mt. Kanlaon is the 3rd most active volcano in the Philippines located at the central-northern part of Negros island. There are two main entry points to the volcano: the easier and more common trail is the Guintubdan while the more demanding is the Wasay trail. Both are considerably a major climb that will last for 2 days.

Really cool place with some epic walks and view points. Overall certainly worth a visit, just hope it doesn't blow up while you are there as does have a tendency to explode when it feels like it. But certainly worth a visit if in the area.

One of my best volcano climbs

I've been there more than 20 years ago. I was in my second year in college when my father and I with friends made that climb. It's rewarding when you made it to the top and I was lucky enough to go near the crater. It was summer and the majestic Mt. Kanla-on really cooperates and nice to us. Once in a lifetime
experience.

I reached my boiling point on trail but certainly being in the summit got that all cooled down until I told myself I'l certainly come back one day..

The highest peak in the Visayas, the source of water of surrounding cities and towns, and the reminder of how God bestows blessings to His people.

The view in the summit is like no other; the air freezing especially between late afternoon until 9 in the morning. Watch out for frost forming along your hair and clothing; it does get extremely cold up there.

This is so beautiful. Mt. Kanlaon, also spelled as Kanla-on or sometimes Canlaon, is an active stratovolcano on the island of Negros, Philippines. It is the highest point in Negros, as well as the whole Visayas, with an elevation of 2,465 m above sea level.

She broke my heart. I was all prepared to climb her might trails but suddenly It was closed due to alert level and possible eruption.
