Wow beautiful church as everyone has said.

Note: the museum is up the stairs as you enter and the church is accessible by turning left. You can visit the church without paying the 150 peso museum fee if you only visit the church. Of course, donations are welcome. The CR / toilet is 10 peso to use.

We arrived just before 11h30 so went to the church. The museum and possibly church as well is closed between 11h30 and 13h30.

You guys… this is almost unbelievable how incredibly well preserved this historic landmark is. Packed with interesting history, a delight for history enthusiasts totally recommended to take a closer look, walk around and inside (ladies and gentleman remember to dress properly for modesty issues) take your time and don’t rush this visit. There’s so much to take in and so much interesting history here.

I had a wonderful time at this church. It is so beautiful, this church was my favorite stop while at bohol. If you have time to walk the small ground and watch and read everything at the museum, you could spend about 2 hours here. The Staff was friendly and helpful. There is also ent of free parking around the church.

I highly recommend the museum as well as the church.

We did'nt get the chance to see the inside because it was closed when we went there. But the outside is already beautiful.

You can also light candles from the outside. There a lot of candle vendors there

One of the oldest church in the Philippines. Damages of the church was restored after the 2013 earthquake. Some of the ruins are displayed in the museum.

This is one of the oldest Catholic churches in our country, and it dates back to the 17th century. I adore its architecture, and in spite of the disasters that have befallen it in the past, I am overjoyed that it has survived to the present day. When you are in Bohol, you shouldn't forget to stop by this church.

It's like a blast from the past. The place reminds you what it is to be in 1500's. The church is very old and was once destroyed by a big earthquake last 2016 (I'm not sure) but then restored by the government. I wish Bohol government preserve the whole town of Baclayon so that tourist can reminisce the past of Philippines spanish-era.

A good place to meditate and pray while traveling the countryside of Bohol. If you like to enter a church with an old world feel this is a must visit. They have a museum with a P150 charge. Note the place is strict for ladies not in proper attire(no sleeves) this also goes for locals and foreigners.

Beautiful church. I think the museum and church are closed every Tuesday, and maybe the church is only open on Tuesdays during scheduled masses

It is said to be the oldest church in Bohol. I’m not really a fan of churches but still nice to visit just to know more about the history of the place

Baclayon Church (actually La Purisma Concepcion de La Virgen Maria Parish Church) was founded by the Jesuit priest in 1596 and became the oldest Christian settlement in Bohol. The present church was built in 1727. The Augustinians, who succeeded the Jesuits in 1768 heavily renovated the church.
The structure suffered major damage by 2013 earthquake, but was duly restored (the process was completed in 2017).
Entrance to the Church is possible only through the museum (fee was 150 PHP per person in April 2023).

After the province was hit by the earthquake a decade ago, this church was risen from its ashes through renovation and rebuilding itself from its original structure. Helped from the non-government organizations of arts amd culture and the government itself, the church was now standing. Every detail from interior and exterior were absolutely perfection. Hope that someday that we can restore Intramuros and the whole City of Manila itself to its glory days before it was destroyed during the Second World War.

This is one of the oldest church built way back spanish colonozation of the Philippine since 1521 located in Bohol sourrounded by beautiful countryside. Old religious relics and beautiful alter will be good place to spend quiet moment. Baclayon church is a beautiful seaside church with plenty to see. The 300 year old retablo and newer ceiling paintings are works of Filipino craftsmanship and artistic prowess.

Beautiful and well-preserved!
Make sure to visit the museum at the back of the church --- especially if you're into calligraphy or interested in medieval manuscripts, or both! There's a missal on display there.
