Capilay Spring Water Park

My family used to live a stone's throw away from the spring. It is accessible from the road or down the steps from the church grounds.
Due to safety concerns, people are no longer allowed to swim close the the main main source but the rest of the pools are open to the public.

To bath in one of the pools of Capilay Spring underneath the shade of trees and just a stone's throw from the thoroughfare of a town is a surreal experience and I happened to see a few Caucasian tourists doing that, oblivious of the bustle of a small town.

I used to enjoy watching the spring park until I reached 19 years young and finally get to enjoy swimming there with my college classmates. 🤗 But as the pandemic starts, it was closed and now it is only available for visitors but not for swimming...

A beautiful place with spring swimming pool. The water was clean and the colour was so amazing. Walk a little bit to see the laundry pond “river”, people wash their clothes and take their bath and swim at the same time!

You can take a quick and refreshing dive in the spring. The water is cool and is about 2 meter (6 ft.) deep. There are even some fish swiming around.

A spring water just near the national road. You can bring your family here if you are planning to have picnic but the water us deep not advisable for kids.

I found it pretty amazing that the town of San Juan, Siquijor was able to establish and maintain a public cold water spring pool as their centerpiece. When we visited kids were jumping around the the crystal blue waters. Groups of friends were having picnics on benches nearby. This is something unheard of in Metro Manila. And it is refreshing to find a place like this in the Philippines.
